‘Dynasty’ Loses Another Series Regular

The thing about The CW is that we expect actors to come and go, but we also expect that they will stay within The CW world.

Now we may not review Dynasty, but I admit that I watch it religiously. Why? BECAUSE IT IS DRAMA. I like watching drama. Takes me out of my crazy, crazy world. And you know, for nostalgia and science too.

I was heartbroken to see that Dynasty has lost another series regular, especially because this is one that I loved.

James Mackay, who has portrayed Steven Carrington since the show premiered, will no longer be a series regular. The actor will be in a reduced number of episodes and will return later this season.

Steven is the least crazy of the Carrington’s and personally, I can’t believe that the show made this choice. Oh ya, it was their choice. The actor took to his Instagram to talk about it.

“All new #Dynasty tonight, but, yep, sorry to say without yours truly,” he wrote on his Instagram this past Friday, hours before the show was set to air. “While Steven had a choice to leave, unfortunately I didn’t. There’s a lot of decisions involved in making television, and sometimes they just don’t go your way and you have to live with it. So for now, all love and on we go. Hope you all enjoy the show.”

Dynasty has long been rumored to have a lot of drama behind the scenes. We’re sorry that it has taken one of our favorite characters. We’ll miss Steven Carrington.

Can’t wait for him to return for whatever episodes he does.

Dynasty airs Fridays on The CW.
