Katherine Langford has returned home to Netflix. The actress debuted a photo from Netflix’s upcoming 10-episode series, Cursed. The show is based off Tom Wheeler’s young adult illustrated book of the same name. In the series she plays Nimue and the story is told from her point of view.
According to the Netflix logline, “Cursed is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”
In the released image of Langford, she is holding a certain sword in a lake – a sword that we can only presume is Excalibur.
The photo came on the heels of Bookcon where Tom Wheeler previewed the book of the same name.
Cursed, will premiere on Netflix in 2020. The book on which it is based will be available from Simon & Schuster this fall.
