Harry Styles Stalker Found Guilty

It’s like something out of a movie, except that it is all too real.

A celebrity, looking to do a kind act, offers money to a homeless person down on their luck. What follows is months of fear, anxiety and uncertainty as the celeb feels a prisoner in their own home from the spiralling and unexpected behavior of the person they were merely trying to help.

This is the reality for super star and all around nice guy Harry Styles. The singer and actor is well known for his kind demeanor and desire to help those in need, his mantra of Treat People With Kindness a staple in his brand. Known from his 1D days of going around to each venue to personally thank the crew, shaking hands with camera men and interviewers during in person meetings, and helping fans caught in the hectic fray of fandom, he is nothing short of one of the kindest and most respected men in the business.

But what started out as an act of kindness turned into a nightmare for Styles. It started back in March, when Harry noticed Pablo Tarazaga-Orero outside his London home on a rainy night. Offering the man money for food or a hotel, Tarazaga-Orero declined, saying he could not accept due to religious reasons, and that is was vegan. The next day, again going above and beyond the norm, Styles bought the man vegan food.

What came next was only the beginning.

“He asked me if I wanted to go to a restaurant and eat with him. I told him I was on my way to work so I couldn’t. I found it a little odd. His facial expression made me feel a little uneasy; it was a kind of smirk. I realized there was something not quite normal.” – Harry Styles, during court proceedings

In the weeks and months that followed, Taragaza-Orero began to appear at Styles local stomping ground, a pub near his home, always moments after his arrival. Styles began to feel as though he was being followed, unease setting in. Tarazaga-Orero began leaving notes in Styles letterbox, asking for money. In addition, he cornered the singer while out for a run in Reagents Park.

The encounters made Styles begin to question his safety in his own home, hiring a night guard, locking his bedroom door, and assessing his home for weak spots.

The man was arrested in July.

Taragaza-Orero tells an odd version of the story; that when Styles first offered him money, it was to go together to a hotel to ‘have some fun’. Styles denied the claim. In addition, Tarazaga-Orero said that he had a vision that the two would end up together in Ireland.

Despite the actions, the man states he did not intend to stalk Styles.

“In the end I just wanted the money he offered me. I don’t have any feelings for him. I’m not in love with him.” – Tarazaga-Orero

After testifying to the court in October 14, Styles should find some relief that the judge found Pablo Tarazaga-Orero guilty. The man is on conditional bail while awaiting sentencing.
