FEELS OF THE WEEK – November 10th to November 16th

Welcome to another Sunday of talking about the shows & movies that made us laugh, cry, go awww and, of course, look around and wonder what in the world was happening. If it made us feel things, whether they were good, or bad, then this is where we talk about it. This is where you tell us if you agree. This is where we let it all out.

So, without further ado, here are these week’s picks:

Badass Female Character of the Week

Lizzie: Can I say Bad Janet, and all the Janets on The Good Place? I mean, they basically saved the day, and they did so by just being, well, Janets!

Zosia: In this week’s AHS: 1984 season finale, the title for Badass Female Character title goes to Margaret Booth. Portrayed perfectly by Leslie Grossman, Margaret may be a villain, but what a mind! You have to have some crazy skills to convince three serial killers to work with you, right?

Mimi: Helen, on New Amsterdam. This week my girl got arrested because of her Bitch Ass colleague, Dr. Castro. Dude, please fire this chick ASAP! All Helen was doing was trying to help her cancer ridden patient deal with the pain of having an inoperable brain tumor. The patient had turned to Heroin and crack dens, so like if Helen offered her a safe place to get high and clean needles then she is winning at life. Helen risked everything to keep this patient safe and get her off of the streets, she did not deserve to be arrested and thrown in jail. Through all of this madness Helen kept her cool though, because I would have beat down Dr. Castro as soon as those handcuffs came off.

Naomi: My pic for the week is Lizzie Saltzman of Legacies. Remembering Hope was just the start to her kick ass journey. She was self-less, supportive and downright savage in getting the pair freed from the video game labyrinth. Lizzie even rooted for Hope to reunite with Landon, knowing how much it could hurt her sister. Breaking the rules and going for broke with crimps and acid washed jeans makes for one hell of a hero!

Gillian: Lucy Chen on The Rookie. I feel like she has always been sidelined due to Bradford being her training officer but this week, she really got to shine. She works so much better with the female cops even if Harper was not kind to her abilities early in the episode. The way Chen handled the bomb scare at the end was awesome. She was very scared but willing to go the distance to protect others, especially Harper.

Moment That Made You Collapse Into a Puddle of FEELS

Mimi: Bess and Lisbeth on Nancy Drew. These two finally kissed and had two dates, kinda three actually. I am so proud of Bess and the giant leaps she is taking with her life, she is opening up to people and learning to trust and love. Also Bess and Lisbeth are hot so when they finally kissed I swooned for them.

Lizzie: There was a moment near the end of this week’s episode of His Dark Materials where Lyra curled up, literally on the street, and tried to get some rest, as Pan tried to soothe her, and it broke my heart. She’s just a kid, and it seems like every adult in the vicinity has something more important to do than take care of her.

Gillian: I have grown such a soft spot for Kevin on This is Us so his entire storyline this week really got to me. He knows he screwed up again, even without Nicky pointing it out (and making him think that Jack was super disappointed in him), and I worried that he was going to start drinking again. But he didn’t! He still got into a brawl, but eh. That’s just Kevin.

Jasmine: This one goes to All American again because that moment when Spencer broke down talking to his mom about his dad KILLED me.  When he said “Why am I never enough?” and started crying, I lost it.

Quote of the Week

Lyra: “I like all jerkies.” Dean Winchester, Supernatural

MImi: “You can’t say goodbye, if you never say hello.” Max, New Amsterdam

Jasmine: “If you don’t want me to kiss you, please say something now.” Asher, All American

WTF Moment of the Week

Lizzie: The end of the first episode of The Mandalorian was certainly a WTF moment, though not necessarily in a bad way. The episode was good, if a bit slow at times, and I was already thinking this was going to be more of a niche thing than something for casual fans, and them bam. THAT happened.

Naomi: Umm, so this is not really what we should probably be posting here, but I was so taken aback by Alaric Saltzman’s fine ass this week that I really did say WTF! The salt and pepper beard and then the Indiana Jones thing! I have to give it up to Matt Davis this week.

Jasmine: When Layla kissed Asher right in front of Olivia on All American.  I was so mad at her when she did that because she knew how much Olivia liked him.  I know she was lashing out but still that was low.
