The wait is finally over. The first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 is here, and we’re feeling every emotion possible right about now!
My first reaction was to fist bump uncontrollably as my girl Diana continues to kick ass and take names. My second reaction was to cry tears of joy. My third reaction was to watch it on repeat until I could find a reasonable excuse to stop.
In Wonder Woman 1984, Wonder Woman squares off against the Cheetah, a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility. Following the debut of 2018’s Wonder Woman, the sequel takes on the 1980s in its first trailer, which is a mixture of fun, action, humor and most importantly heart.
But most importantly, STEVE FUCKING TREVOR IS BACK. Our WonderTrev hearts couldn’t be more full.
Wonder Woman set the bar incredibly high not only for female superhero films but superhero films in general. It was action-packed yet warm and heartfelt — and downright heartbreaking. Simply put, it was so much more than just a superhero movie.
So when it was announced that there would be a sequel, naturally we were thrilled beyond belief. When we found out it would take place in 1984, it presented a new wave of excitement to see what Wonder Woman would look like in a new decade.
