I am so glad we finally got a Burzek-centric episode! I know I said I’m not the biggest Burzek fans, but they’re growing on me. Plus, it was nice to see some other characters get the spotlight for once instead of the usual ones. Burgess deserves some love, too. I mean, after all, her current situation is anything but normal.
Burzek Baby Drama

Like I said, Burgess’ pregnancy and her current situation is anything but normal. And Kim and Adam just can’t agree on the best way to handle it.
Okay, I just have to say that Kim was really getting on my nerves this episode. I totally agree with Adam on this one. I don’t think she was doing the right thing by not telling Voight and remaining on duty while she’s pregnant. It’s way too risky. And I get that she’s the one that’s carrying the baby and it’s not going to affect Adam’s career as much as hers, but he’s still the father and should be able to have a say, too.
Baby Burzek Is No Longer A Secret

I am so glad Kim finally decided to tell people she’s pregnant. I get that it was hard for her to do and she didn’t want to tell because she didn’t want to end up on desk duty, but I think it was the right thing to do. Her decisions are affecting more than just her now, and she needed to take that into consideration. It’s more than just her life at stake now.
Everybody’s reactions to the news were absolutely amazing. I mean, Voight smiled after all, and we almost never see him smile. And the ‘Mom Cop’ mug that Trudy got Kim was adorable. I have loved seeing their relationship grow over the seasons. And the way Kim told Kevin was so casual and funny. I loved it. Burgwater will always have a special bond.
Atwater’s Brother Troubles

I knew that Kevin and Jordan’s relationship was getting a little rocky, but I just felt bad for Kevin after this episode. Jordan and his sister are pretty much the only family Kevin has, and Jordan just completely disowned him. I get that he feels like Kevin betrayed him and his girlfriend, but he was just looking out for Jordan and doing what was best for him. Hopefully these two can work things out, because at the end of the day all those two really have is each other.
Stand Out Scene
Burgess meeting Adam in his neighborhood to show him the ultrasound pictures was precious. She really wants him to be involved, and he wants to be involved.
The disappointment in Adam’s voice when he found out Kim went to the doctor alone was really sweet. He really wants to be there for her and support her through her pregnancy. You can just tell he really cares about her and the baby, which I totally expected him to. He’s always had a soft spot when it came to Burgess. Adam’s gonna make a great dad.
