I don’t need to go to church because Manifest throws its religious undertones at me every week. Like if we’re being honest, Lost 2.0 makes a part of my soul dies every single time I watch it.
And yes, I know I could stop watching it – but I can’t. It’s part of my job. That and maybe I am always punishing myself. Who knows?
Manifest is the show that I have to watch twice to try and catch all the bullshit that happens.
Here’s the synopsis for the episode –
Tensions flare as the passengers of Flight 828 finally come to understand the meaning of their increasingly terrifying callings. Afraid of losing his daughter to the Church of the Believers, Ben confronts Adrian. Zeke challenges Michaela’s trust, and Saanvi seeks help from an old flame.
Let’s break it down –
Last episode ended with them in a plane that had crashed, people dead, champagne bottles broken everywhere. Ben is trying to figure it out – as he always is.
I am not really liking the fact that Grace has callings, it feels weird. But her and Zeke and Cal have the same calling. They see a bunch of people dancing in a club and it’s on fire.
Cal tells them it’s time. Save the passengers.
FINALLY! Look, Olive being all good and taking what her parents say. That’s just not what teenagers do. Sure, she’s been ditching school. She’s dating TJ (we all love being with the older guy).
She tells her parents that she’s not putting up with their shit, that she is old enough to be emancipated, and walks out.
The two have found that the guy that did the Tarot Cards – he kept a journal. TJ is innovative and sent away for the journal. Like this is all setting up for some shit and I know it.
She and TJ go to a club. He’s got it bad for her. It’s kinda cute and it’s kinda setting up for pain. When they get to the club, they exchange bracelets and it’s totes cute. These two have fallen for each other and they are so cute it’s sick.
But we all know cuteness on this show means something gonna go wrong.
Ok – so Isiah – from the church has everyone at the club where he works. Ben and Michaela look around and see that the place is filled with with 828ers.
And Olive is there.
BEN AND MICHAELA ARE EVERYWHERE
These two go everywhere. Like I would love to see another 828er take the reigns sometimes, but like hey – we can’t all get what we want.
Ben comes to the club to meet with Adrian for a drink. Only Adrian isn’t the one that invites him. See Isiah stole his phone and when Ben texted asking Adrian for a drink, he responded yes.
Because he was trying to get everyone to the club.
Isiah is drugging all of the champagne and has the intention of killing the passengers. He’s looking for another miracle so he thinks killing everyone is okay, because the passengers can’t die.
I think Adrian has been leading a cult and not knowing it. Because he wants something to believe in. He wants some purpose. Adrian has ignored callings. Adrian has ignored what he was meant to do. But he also has wanted all the answers that he hasn’t gotten.
Adrian keeps telling Ben that he didn’t ask him there. Ben notices that the club is filled with 828ers and realizes because of the calling and Michaela putting 2 + 2 together – that the champagne is poisoned and they are all going to die.
They are all trying to get out and get the people out, when they start dropping like flies. TJ runs back to the room that Olive is in. Michaela breaks open a door and gets everyone out. Ben runs looking for Olive and finds TJ trying to get the door open.
The two of them – manage to break down the door. Do I believe that those two can actually break down a door? No. But I’ll go with the adrenaline rush thing.
I guess. They are trying to make their way out when Isiah comes out of nowhere and takes Olive by knife point. Ben is panicked, but TJ – he’s terrified. He jumps into save her and tells Ben to get her out.
Ben brings Olive out, carrying her. Grace and Cal – big shocker – are there to see it. Ben hands off Olive and says he’s going back in for TJ, but before he can get back in the place explodes.
TJ is gone.
I’m kinda sad by this choice. Olive deserved something happy and that girl can’t catch a break with the happy. Her first love is going to be her biggest heartbreak and I feel for her.
Remember the journal that the tarot guy wrote? The one TJ got? Well Ben checks on Olive at home and her Mom is with her. She tells him that he needs to go and get the journal from his office.
Ben does and sits down to open it. One page has a man carrying a girl out – just like he carried Olive out of the club.
And then the book starts radiating light.
If Ben turns into an angel or some shit, I am out.
WE FINALLY KNOW WHO ALEX IS
Remember Saanvi sending that text and us all wondering who Alex was? Well I admit I didn’t see this one coming.
Saanvi is doing all of the research to try and fix the gene mutation for the passengers and help the passengers. She’s not having an easy time and she’s testing on herself.

That’s never a good idea, as we all know.
Her Dad comes up to bring her dinner. They have a talk and her Dad tells her to call her friend who helped her with her cancer research. That person is Alex.
She calls Alex. Alex is a married woman. And that’s what I didn’t see coming. The married part. Cause like Saanvi seems like she’s not the cheating type. Well the person cheated with. I saw her as the good girl next door.
And that’s what shocked me.
Saanvi keeps at the serum or whatever it is to fix the gene. And it turns out that she finds it. She fixes it.
And I am not sure that is a good or bad thing?
JARED IS STILL SCUM
Is he working undercover? Is he trying to protect Michaela? I don’t know. But lets all be honest, I don’t trust anything he does.
He is getting Michaela’s case files for the shady dude from the bar. One of the Xer’s.
I totally believe that he still loves Michaela. I think he’s a bitter bitch cause he wasn’t chosen. I think he wants to prove to her that he loves her and protecting her is the way he thinks he can do that.
But I don’t like the way he’s going about it.
He needs to get Michaela’s case reports, but he doesn’t have her password anymore. He tries a few times and doesn’t know it. And I think that for him that was a hard moment.
Because he doesn’t know her anymore and that kills him. It kills him to not be the chosen one in her heart.
But I digress.
He can’t get into her case files, so he goes to the IT person to get help. I’m gonna say something – why 4/5 times is it some fat dude in the basement? Like I don’t get it. But when the guy tells him that he can’t get them cause he doesn’t have access and Jared blackmails him.
Lord, this dude is winning no points with me.
But IT guy slips up later and when he sees Michaela and gives her the printed pages of her report and says it was douchebag that asked for them – I was glad that Michaela knows something is up.
She knows there is a mole. He just said himself up as suspect #1.
Zeke, Oh Zeke
Michaela is paranoid that something is going on – because Courtney told her how Zeke hides his drugs. She couldn’t find his razor so when he comes looking for it and finds hers – she has to tell him that Courtney told her that he hides the drugs in the razor.
Zeke isn’t happy with her not just asking and talking to him about it.
Look, I like/hate/don’t trust Zeke. But I do believe that he loves Michaela. I do believe that he wants to be a good man. He’s just sooooo annoying.
Anyhow – him and Michaela exchange I love you’s. Somehow I feel like those are going to be famous last words for them both.
