FEELS OF THE WEEK – February 23rd to February 29th

Welcome to another Sunday of talking about the shows & movies that made us laugh, cry, go awww and, of course, look around and wonder what in the world was happening. If it made us feel things, whether they were good, or bad, then this is where we talk about it. This is where you tell us if you agree. This is where we let it all out.

So, without further ado, here are these week’s picks:

Badass Female Character of the Week

Lizzie: One of my favorite things about Claire Fraser on Outlander is how when she gets in her head that there’s something she can – and should be doing – everything else be damned. Case in point: breeding penicillin many, many years before it is even discovered. But can we bet against Claire? My answer is no. Plus, the team up with Marsali made my heart grow three sizes.

Gillian: I’m going to go with Charlie on Legends of Tomorrow. It was really her episode this week and I very much enjoyed it. She finally felt like part of the team and I’m looking forward to where they go next with her because that final revelation was a doozy.

Ashley: Soji on Star Trek: Picard, breaking out of the trap Narek set for her set me to cheering! Now that she knows who she is, I’m excited to see what turns her character takes.

Jasmine: Captain Olivia Benson on Law and Order: SVU. Anytime she goes undercover I just love it. She takes on these different personas but still maintains that tough as nails Benson attitude.

Jessica: Kat Tamin, Law and Order: SVU.  Honestly, I’ve had mixed feelings about her throughout the season, but she really impressed me this week.  She nailed her undercover assignment, and she finally seems to be finding her place with the team.

OTP of the Week

Ashley: Jake and Amy on Brooklyn Nine-Nine are always my OTP of the week. While they didn’t share a ton of screen time this episode, Jake’s resistance to even pretending to flirt with Debbie to get her gun was very sweet.

Lizzie: Emilio and Natalia, on Party of Five. Look, dancing in the kitchen is my OTP KRYPTONITE. I’d been waiting for that moment, for the click, and it finally happened. All aboard this ship!

Jasmine: Dani and Bright on Prodigal Son.  I know right now they’re just friends working together but I just feel a deeper connection between the two of them that makes me hope for more.

Jessica: Lucy and Tim, The Rookie.  He was the one that found her, and his scenes with her in the hospital were so cute.  I definitely think Tim has feelings for Lucy beyond partners, and I’m so ready for this couple to happen!

Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Naomi: Barry Allen on The Flash searching for his parents’ grave in the new multiverse with flowers in his hand just broke my heart. The speedster will always carry their deaths with him; I’m really glad the pain of those losses hasn’t been glossed over on the show.

Gillian: This might be a little personal, but Randall going to therapy on This is Us. While my anxiety isn’t as extreme as his, I do suffer from it and have struggled with therapy in the past. Seeing an experience you went through on one of your favorite shows is a bit of a trip. I just want Randall to get the help he needs and to ease Beth and the rest of the family’s minds.

Ashley: Rosa getting soft with Debbie on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, encouraging her to do the right thing, warmed my heart. And then Rosa even hugged her at the end! It was awesome. I love seeing women encouraging and supporting other women.

Lizzie: Lauren Graham finally getting her solo on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. The show hasn’t exactly been extraordinary for me, but I absolutely loved Lauren’s shining moment. And with “Roar,” too. I love that song.

Jasmine: Harry Styles music video for his song Falling was an emotionally beautiful piece of art. I already loved the song but adding that music video, made it that much more emotional.

Jessica: Ted and Alexis breaking up on Schitt’s Creek.  I know it was the logical decision, and I’m proud of Alexis for realizing Ted needed this job, but it broke my heart.  I’m still holding out hope they’ll reunite before the finale.

Quote of the Week

Lyra: “Be afraid, Doctor. Because everything is about to change. Forever.” – The Master, Doctor Who

Gillian: “I’m really good at secrets. I’ve kept Eliot’s fear of butterflies secret for years. Until now, shit!” – Fen, The Magicians

Ashley: “Please, my friends. Choose to live.” – Elnor, Star Trek: Picard

Jasmine: “To help someone you care about is never a bad call. Just make sure it’s not at the expense of yourself.” – Chris, All American

Jessica: “Why do grown men have to act like little babies?” Judd, 9-1-1: Lone Star

WTF Moment of the Week

Gillian: Um, hello, Masterpiece, what the hell was that ending of Sanditon?! I get that it’s Jane Austen’s unfinished story, but why did you decide not to give these characters a happy ending? Do you know Jane Austen at all?!?

Ashley: I mean, I knew Narek was going to turn on Soji, but to do it the way he did was super cruel. I’ve got suspicions that he’s starting to feel a little more for her than he expected and now he’s going to deeply regret trying to take her out. I’m hoping for more conflicted Narek this season!

Lizzie: Look, at this point, the entirety of Briarpatch is just a big WTF.

Jessica: Hawaii Five-O announcing this is the last season.  I wasn’t emotionally prepared for this show to end.

Jasmine: Coach Colette on Dare Me. Seriously, her relationship with Addy is just a mess. She had Addy help her with Sarge Will to cover her tracks about his death and then she goes and makes her do 50 freaking pushups because she didn’t have her cheer shoes which she cleaned because they were covered in Wills blood? Seriously, WTF Coach??
