‘Stop and Fangirl’ Episode 98: Diversity as a Tool

Here at Fangirlish we continue to support your right to fangirl over any fandom you desire – whether that is a book, a TV show, a movie, or even sports. That’s why we have Stop and Fangirl! So you can feel happy – and confident, loving whatever it is you love.

For our 98th episode, Lizzie guides us through the phenomenon of white creators sprinkling in POC or LGBT people in stories that doesn’t really give these characters any meaningful stories just to say they’re diverse. False diversity isn’t real diversity, if the characters don’t have a voice. Lizzie explains why in this week’s episode!

So without further ado…STOP AND FANGIRL WITH US! And when you’re done, leave a comment on our Twitter and tell us how you feel diversity being used as a tool like this.
