Welcome to another Sunday of talking about the shows & movies that made us laugh, cry, go awww and, of course, look around and wonder what in the world was happening. If it made us feel things, whether they were good, or bad, then this is where we talk about it. This is where you tell us if you agree. This is where we let it all out.
So, without further ado, here are these week’s picks:
Badass Female Character of the Week
Julie: Judith Grimes on The Walking Dead was a badass for saving Gamma even though everyone hated her for being a Whisperer. She kept Gamma and her brother safe by shooting Beta. Michonne is raising that girl to be a badass!
Jasmine: Coop on All American. She took charge of what she wanted when she was preparing to sign with Leilas dad. She made sure that things were on her terms and in saying she wanted to sign with Leila, it opened the door for her to take charge as well.
Emily: Hannah from Black Friday the Musical. I’ve watched / listened to the show at least once a day since it was released last week, and Hannah gets better and better each time. She’s a powerful little kid, because it takes so much courage to stand up to those you love.
Jessica: Grace on 9-1-1: Lone Star. I think I sound like a broken record, but she’s just amazing. This week she was able to diffuse a tense situation and get through to someone suffering with dementia. And after this difficult shift, she still went to the hospital to offer support to Judd and the 126. I think she’s my new favorite female character on television.
Gillian: Once again, I’m picking Dex from Stumptown. Her latest case brought up some unsettling memories about her time in the Marines and she had several breakdowns. But she managed to work through her PTSD and help a woman reunite with her children. I’m really loving how much she’s grown since the pilot.
Ashley: Ceclia Kass in The Invisible Man. Elisbeth Moss owns everything she’s in and this film was no exception. I loved watching how her character changed throughout the film. No spoilers from me, but WOW.
OTP of the Week
Ashley: Jake and Amy from Brooklyn Nine-Nine always warm my heart with their tenderness and how much they care for each other. Watching how they handle difficult situations like trying to conceive legit made me ugly cry.
Jasmine: Jordan and Simone on All American. He is such a sweetheart for fighting for her and her baby. I know there is much more than just a friendship between them and I’m rooting for them!
Jessica: Nic and Conrad on The Resident. I’ve loved watching this relationship grow and develop for the last three years. Things are just better when they’re together, and I’m glad they realized this. Conrad’s proposal was amazing, and I can’t wait for them to be married. Note to other shows: see, we like happy couples. You don’t always have to create drama.
Lizzie: Jamie and Claire on Outlander. That moment when he walks into their house and sees her, after barely a few days away, and just stops and thanks God for her existence, for the fact that she’s there? That’s what an OTP is, and why they’ve consistently been one of the best on TV.
Grace: I’m going to have to agree with Jessica. Nic and Conrad from The Resident are one of my favorite TV couples. Seeing them reach such a milestone this week and get engaged was an absolute joy. They are one of television’s strongest and stable couples and I love watching them grow each and every week.
Gillian: Agreeing with Jessica and Grace. The CoNic proposal was adorable and I’m so happy for the two of them for finally working things out! They are always a bright spot on this show and I can’t wait to see their wedding.

Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS
Lizzie: Emilio and Natalia getting together in Party of Five. Talk about FINALLY! Besides, I really wanted to give Emilio a hug, so I’m really glad Natalia was there to provide comfort.
Julie: When Alexis broke down to her father about her breakup with Ted on Schitt’s Creek. We knew she was going to crack at some point in the episode, and when she finally did, we all just wanted to give her a big hug.
Jasmine: I have two and they both involve Asher on All American. The first is Asher and Liv breaking up. I understand why Liv told him they needed to take a break but it was still heartbreaking to watch. Second, was Asher confessing to his teammates that the steroids were his and that he was suspended indefinitely from the team. Football means everything to him so I know it was difficult for him to tell the truth.
Charles: The final moments on Brooklyn 99 between Jake and Amy. From Jake comforting Amy about how they are a family and then the quiet “nope” Amy tells Jake when she sees that she’s still not pregnant. I love how they are treating this storyline -showing how strong and in love they are even as they are having difficulties having a baby.
Becky: I’m gonna be the trash-baby who brings in Love is Blind just so I can talk about Giannina’s speech to Damian regarding the emotional rollercoaster they rode during their time on the show, and the reveal that the pair was still dating despite having broken up on the day of the marriage ceremonies. It was so sweet and real and, frankly, such a smart and mature way to approach the insanity that unfolded on screen. I was just so freaking delighted to learn that the pair had chosen to sort out their differences off camera and date properly because they weren’t ready to lose each other – how cute is that?!
Also, just Cameron and Lauren in general. Of course I follow both of them on Instagram and every picture they post together is goals – they’re freaking beautiful. I’m obsessed.
Ashley: While unspoken, the very clear and apparent theme of this week’s Picard is found family, which always leaves me in a puddle of FEELS. Watching Picard reunite with Riker and Troi, then seeing their daughter, Kestra, encourage Soji to consider Picard her family had me choked up by the end.
Gillian: Demi Lovato’s recently released song “I Love Me” really got to me. Not only have I been going through a rough time and related to the lyrics mightily, but it makes me so happy that she’s back and really working on herself.
Quote of the Week
Julie: “Have a rosy day!” – Jocelyn, Schitt’s Creek
Jasmine: “Hey, do you guys think you look tough? You’re wearing pajamas.”- Olivia, All American
Jessica: “Everyone makes mistakes. It’s what we do after that matters.” – Olivia, All American
Gillian: “You can’t compare yourself to guinea pigs, babe, you taught me that.” – Jake Peralta, Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Ashley: “He makes me feel like I’m the crazy one.” – Cecilia Kass, The Invisible Man
WTF Moment of the Week
Lizzie: Literally every second of the way Grey’s Anatomy chose to write out Alex Karev. The abrupt way was problematic, yes, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING the last episode proved the actor WAS available, but nothing compares to how disrespectful the actual storyline is. Alex spent ten years growing into the person he is today, and so Grey’s took all that character development, threw him in the trash and send him off into the sunset with …Izzie. Who had, somehow, HAD HIS KIDS for like five years and told NO ONE. Cause that’s normal, and absolutely the thing that makes you run out on your wife and go back to the arms of your ex.
And I’m not even going into how Izzie used Alex’s sperm, that they collected when they were married and she thought she might die, to impregnate herself, and didn’t tell ANYONE about it FOR YEARS. What the actual fuckity fuck? The reality is, Grey’s doesn’t respect viewers, it never has. We’ve seen this again and again and again. At this point they should just go ahead, give Meredith Alzheimer’s like they’ve been promising for years, and end the show.
Jessica: Before Thursday, I was going to write about All American and how I can’t believe they spent all this time building up Asher and Olivia just to break them up. But NOTHING could compare to Grey’s Anatomy. They just threw 15 years of character development out the freakin window. Alex would have never left Jo. He loved her. I hated every minute of this, and I can’t believe this is how they chose to write off Alex Karev. Way to ruin one of my favorite television characters.
Grace: I was saying WTF every five seconds while watching the Women Tell All of The Bachelor this week. Does that count?
Gillian: My WTF moment is actually going to focus on a certain group in the Star Wars fandom. Everyone in this fandom needs a timeout. So the sequel trilogy didn’t go the way you wanted it to, I’m with you. However, that does NOT give you a free pass to start bullying and harassing members of the creative team, actors, authors, and employees of Lucasfilm and Disney. The fact that Lucasfilm employees have to either leave social media or lock their accounts because of this is atrocious. If you don’t like something, you don’t have to continue consuming the content. It’s healthier to just leave than do what some people are doing lately. And I’m so sick of it because it makes all of the fandom look bad. I almost don’t want to go to Celebration if this continues.
Shelby C: I’m agreeing with Lizzie and Jessica on Grey’s Anatomy, granted I started my binge not too long ago and I’m not near caught up, but I saw the spoilers and I am not okay. When you start Grey’s this late you know most of the major spoilers and while knowing some have upset me none have made me genuinely want to stop my binge like this one has. I have watched Alex become one of my favorite characters and I hate that he left everyone and sent them letters. That is such an insult to his character development.
Ashley: The ending of The Invisible Man has had me saying WTF in the best way possible since I watched it on Tuesday night. No spoilers from me, and I’m still trying to decide what I think of it, but ultimately, I adore the questions the film made me ask. I’m hesitant to say more because this is one you really need to see for yourself. If you want to sit down and have a thoughtful discussion with your friends this week, go see The Invisible Man.
