FEELS OF THE WEEK: May 3rd to May 9th

Welcome to another Sunday of talking about the shows & movies that made us laugh, cry, go awww and, of course, look around and wonder what in the world was happening. If it made us feel things, whether they were good, or bad, then this is where we talk about it. This is where you tell us if you agree. This is where we let it all out.

So, without further ado, here are these week’s picks:

Badass Female Character of the Week

Jasmine: I honestly have to say every single female on this season of Westworld.  Dolores, Maeve, and Charlotte were all the biggest badass females the entire season.  They got more screen time than ever and they owned it.

Lyra: Tally Craven from Motherland: Fort Salem. She did what she had to to keep her squad safe and protected. Should she have told Raelle about Scylla? Maybe. Friendships are complicated like that. But Tally trusted in the military and its mission. They wouldn’t lie to her right? Or make her do anything that would really hurt anyone? That’s why Tally did everything she did when it came to Raelle and Scylla and then not telling Abigail about the Spree infiltration at her cousin’s wedding. Tally’s the rock of this show and I’m not ready for her faith in Fort Salem to be shaken.

Lizzie: Marsali, on Outlander. She doesn’t get nearly the amount of screentime she deserves, but in that moment at the end when Marsali WENT FOR IT with those scissors, trying to protect Claire? That said everything. She didn’t do it because she had to, she did it because she loves Claire, and she would do anything to protect her, just as Claire would do for her.

OTP of the Week

Lizzie: Max and Zoey, on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. That’s it, stop everything. This is THE ship, not just in like, this show, but my heart. The way she tried to console him at the beginning of the episode, awkwardly, but with so much heart. The way Zoey KISSED HIM, chose him. The way he was there with her when she needed him. The way he even called Simon, because Simon could help, and his love is not selfish. The way they just …fit together.

Jacqueline: COMPLETELY AGREE with Lizzie! Max and Zoey on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist!!! Zoey chose Max!!! She kissed him and then the singing and dancing!! How he was just there for her. I’m going to stop now…but I’m so so HAPPY!!! SQUEE!

Gillian: Another The Baker and the Beauty OTP from me: Natalie and Amy are so cute! I love how comfortable they are with each other, and even though the dinner did not go exactly how Natalie wanted it to, Amy didn’t run away. Amy wants to support Natalie any way she can and that warms my heart so much!

Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Lyra: Libba dying on Motherland: Fort Salem. For some reason, I always saw Libba as an unstoppable force that wouldn’t be taken down anytime soon. And I’m with Abigail in feeling the pain of Libba’s loss. She never thought she’d have to live life without her adversary. And now life is suddenly 100% more serious, military college too, and Abigail doesn’t know how to deal. I wouldn’t know how to deal either and it breaks my heart that these young women have to deal with such crazy and serious things like war just because they’re witches.

Lizzie: The last 20 minutes of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist were emotional AF, but I agree that the rendition of “American Pie” at the end was the perfect way to capture that emotion, in a way. I felt all the things, but I also had a way to let out all the things I felt, by singing. What a finale. What a scene. It’s just …a masterpiece, and I’ve already rewatched it enough times to lose count.

Jacqueline: STILL haven’t recovered from the end of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. I will forever cry when I hear American Pie now. Such a beautiful perfect to ending to what was always going to be a horrible time. I’m not a fan of crying at TV shows but this show was worthy of my tears.

Gillian: A bit of silly feels, but I really enjoyed the social distancing episode of All Rise. They did the best they could under the circumstances and everything still felt true to the characters. But what really got me was the end dance break to Stevie Wonder’s “As” because it was such a positive way to end the show and that we will get through this.

Jasmine: Watching Mackenzie grieve the death of her mother on Teen Mom OG.  She was in so much pain and it just broke my heart to pieces.

Quote of the Week

Lizzie: “You have made my life whole.” – Jamie to his daughter on Outlander

Lyra: “Dangerous? I have been poisoned, stabbed, and nearly exsanguinated. And the fact that I have lived to use that word as a verb is proof that I can look out for myself.” – Mary Hamilton, Batwoman

Gillian: “Oh my God! You adopted Son of Sam’s demon dog!” -Ava, Legends of Tomorrow

Jasmine: “There is ugliness in the world, disarray.  I choose to see the beauty.”- Dolores, Westworld

WTF Moment of the Week

Lyra: Reagan and Magpie being sisters on Batwoman. Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow! Just dishonor! Especially with how much I loved Reagan and Kate….smh. DISHONOR!

Jasmine: Julia buying a watch for Benjamin after they had only just met on Gold Digger.  It was her birthday weekend and she bought something for a man she barely knew.  Who does that?

Lizzie: Look, honestly, the end of Outlander, or what comes after, because we ALL KNOW IT. This is Outlander, after all, and no, they have not learned the lesson that they don’t need to use violence to further people’s storylines. They really haven’t.
