Greta Thunberg Donates To The United Nations Children’s Fund

Greta Thunberg is someone that I learn from every single time I see her on the news. Thunberg is inspiring me again, by donating a big sum of money to coronavirus relief efforts.

The activist was recently awarded a large sum of money – $100,000 for her global activism – from Human Act, which is a Danish Development organization. The activist is donating the money to the the United Nations Children’s Fund.

Human Act will be matching the donation. They are also launching a new campaign. The campaign is aimed at safeguarding children’s rights and welfare at this time.

“I’m asking everyone to step up and join me in support of UNICEF’s vital work to save children’s lives, to protect health and continue education,” Greta shared in a statement. “Like the climate crisis, the coronavirus pandemic is a child-rights crisis. It will affect all children, now and in the long-term, but vulnerable groups will be impacted the most.”

This money food shortages, strained healthcare systems, violence and lost school days for children.

We admire her activism and her heart.
