Filthy Rich premiered last night on Fox. It’s full of promise and has a great storyline. This blended family is going to keep things interesting to say the least. Let’s jump into our review!
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
According to Deadline, Margaret Monreaux, played by Kim Cattrall, the matriarch of a mega-rich Southern family famous for creating a wildly successful Christian television network. After her husband dies in a plane crash, Margaret and family are stunned to learn that he fathered three illegitimate children, all of whom are written into his will — threatening their family name and fortune.
I like Filthy Rich so far, based off watching the first episode. It has a lot of promise. If the writing and storyline stay consistent, I can see myself really enjoying this series. It’s engaging, funny and the characters are pure gold. So far, my favorite characters are Margaret and Ginger.
It’s different from a lot of shows on TV right now, which is needed in my opinion. To me it’s a blend between a comedy and drama with a dash of mystery. If it’s not canceled, it could be a really great show.
I’m excited to see the chaos unfold with Ginger, Antonio and Jason and what they bring into the Monreaux’s world. I love that they refuse to take the shit that Margaret and company try to feed them. They are fighting for what they deserve. I also really enjoy the banter between Margaret and Ginger, it’s great. They know how to play the game.
I will also say this blended family is going to be all sorts of fucked up and it’s going to be entertaining. They are all fighting with each other and then there is Rose who just is so intrigued with her new siblings, unlike the rest of her family. I’m also wondering if Eugene was kidnapped or if he will loose his memory. Those are my two best guesses.
The Monreaux’s world is going to be rocked and I can’t wait to watch. I just hope Fox doesn’t cancel Filthy Rich after I fall in love with this show. Did you enjoy Filthy Rich? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
