We’re just one day away from the ‘Chicago PD’ Season 8 premiere! It seems like forever since we’ve last seen Intelligence, and it’s almost time for them to be back on our screens. We can hardly wait for November 11th, and all this anticipation has got us thinking about our wishlist for the upcoming season. Here’re 5 things we’re hoping for this season.
Even though it’s pretty much been confirmed that it’s gonna happen, I really wanna see Upstead become an official item in season 8. I absolutely loved Linstead, don’t get me wrong, but Upstead just has so much chemistry. I cannot wait for that moment when Hailey and Jay finally admit their feelings for each other. It’s about time Upstead finally seals the deal.
A Love Interest for Atwater
It’s about time Atwater got a proper love interest. He’s an amazing character, yet I think he’s the only member of Intelligence that hasn’t had a proper love interest at some point in the series. I know Bryna and Gina from Meet Us At Molly’s would agree with me when I say that Atwater deserves some love.
A Visit From Antonio
Antonio’s departure at the end of season six left us with much to be desired. There’re so many questions that have been left unanswered. Gabby came back for an episode of Chicago Fire, so it’s not impossible for Antonio to come back for an episode of PD and wrap up his story.
A Love Interest for Voight
Hear me out on this one, Chihards. Voight has literally lost everyone. He has no family left. I think it would be nice to see Voight have someone in his life that he cares about again. Camille has been dead since season one, and I think he deserves some storylines outside of the unit and case of the week. Voight deserves some love, too.
Police Reform Storyline
I know it’s been confirmed that Season 8 is going to touch on police reform, but there’s some things I want to see with that storyline. I’m excited to see police reform for the law enforcement perspective and what exactly police reform entails.
I also think a police reform storyline could provide a lot of drama and suspense for intelligence. Will intelligence stay intact? Or will some of them be split up to help with costs? And if some of them have to go, how do they decide who goes and who stays? Will some member of Intelligence’s true feelings about each other come out as a result? Police reform will make an interesting storyline.
