All the Brettsey feels this week, Chihards! This episode was one of my favorite ones yet. Chicago Fire‘s “That Kind of Heat” brought the heat in more ways than one. I cannot wait to see what’s in store when the shows finally return to us again in January.
All The Brettsey Feels

We got SO MUCH Brettsey content this episode and I loved every minute of it! Like I said last episode, I fall more and more in love with this ship each episode. Brett finally realizing how much Casey cares about her because of Gallo’s story was so adorable.
I got so many Leyton vibes when Brett told Casey “It’s always been you.” The Chicago shows and One Tree Hill are some of my all-time favorite shows, so to have the correlation between the two was everything! I really hope that Brettsey can work things out, because if they really are anything like Lucas and Peyton, then they have the makings for a great love story.
We Miss You, Leslie Shay
Severide getting the ambo door back after the crash was so sweet. I love that he wanted to save that piece of his best friend’s memory. Furthermore, I love that he wanted to make sure the newest members of 51 knew about Shay and the impact she had on the firehouse. Her legacy will forever live on at Firehouse 51.
This is the first mention of Shay we’ve heard in a while. While I would love to see Severide talking to Stella about her, I’m glad we at least got to see him talking to someone about Shay. I think that storyline was the perfect way to bring her up again and reward longtime viewers.
Welcome to the 51 Way, Giana!

Brett rushing to save the guy that ran them off the road was probably the most Brett thing ever. We all know Sylvie has a big heart. But Giana thinking she wasn’t cut out for 51 because she didn’t rush to do the same was so relatable! Not everyone is quick to help someone that hurt them.
I love that we are learning more about Cruz and Gianna through their storylines. Let’s be honest though, overprotective Cruz is not a good look. You can practically see the heat coming off of Cruz every time Gallo looks at Giana. That man needs a baby, stat!
Stand Out Scene
THAT KISS!! It finally happened guys! The scene when Casey went to Brett’s and they finally confessed their feelings for each other was everything. Brettsey definitely brought the heat with that scene, and I was all here for it! While it didn’t end the way I would have liked it to, I still really really loved that scene.
While I love Brettsey and was really rooting for them to be together, I can’t say I blame Brett for kind of friend-zoning Casey. She wants to know that his feelings are real and she’s not just a consolation prize. She deserves better than that, and she knows it. While I hated to see her so upset and heartbroken, I’m glad she knows her self-worth. I’m proud of you, Sylvie Brett. I still have faith that her and Casey will somehow work things out.
