This was another rough week for Kevin Atwater, and Intelligence is getting caught in the crossfire. But on the bright side, we got to see Jordan again! Let’s hope Chicago PD‘s 8×02 “White Knuckle” put an end to Atwater’s troubles once and for all.
Atwater vs. Nolan

Let me say this again in case it wasn’t clear the last time: stop coming for Atwater! Leave him alone, for God’s sake. Also, how many times does he have to say that he didn’t do anything wrong before other people besides Intelligence start believing him? And the acting in this episode was incredible! Once again, I say that LaRoyce Hawkins deserves all the awards.
I cannot believe the cops were IN HIS HOUSE! Is nothing sacred anymore? Those cops were definitely playing dirty and crossing lines, and I’m so glad Atwater finally put them in their place. After all, it can’t be fun having to constantly be looking over your shoulder. Protect Kevin Atwater at all costs.
Where The Hell is Backup?

As if Atwater having a target on his back wasn’t bad enough, now all of Intelligence is paying the price. I feel like we’ve seen this type of thing happen in a past episode because of something Adam did. I’m all for repeating some aspects of storylines if it makes for good TV, but not at Intelligence’s expense.
I’m not gonna lie, seeing Adam lying on the ground like that after the gunshot went off had me a little worried. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time someone on this show got shot. And Kevin feeling so guilty about it like Adam getting shot was his fault broke my heart. Stop hurting the people in Intelligence. Please.
Can We Trust Sam Miller?
It’s hard to trust any cop outside of Intelligence, especially after Woods, Kelton, and Brennon. Similarly, the way the beat cops have been treating Kevin these last few episodes doesn’t help either. However, this episode showed us that Sam Miller may be one of the good guys.
Her telling Voight numerous times last episode that she’s on his side, and then their conversation in the car garage at the end of the episode is making her grow on me. Also, the fact that she gave Voight the 48 hours and admitted he was right makes me want to believe that she isn’t out to get Voight and the rest of Intelligence. You’re alright, Sam Miller.
Stand Out Scene
Atwater showing up in Nolan’s house at the end and letting him know that he wasn’t going to be bullied anymore was so dang good! I love seeing Atwater take no crap from anyone. And let’s be honest, Nolan definitely had it coming. You don’t mess with a member of Intelligence and get away with it.
Let’s hope this is the end of Atwater’s troubles. He did the right thing, and he doesn’t deserve to be punished for it anymore. After all, I wouldn’t want to mess with Atwater, especially after he put me in my place like that.
Best Lines
Atwater: I did nothing wrong. I told the truth
Adam: You know I got you, right? We all do. You’re not alone.
Voight: You are a good cop. And you’re a good man, Kevin. And you ask me, as soon as you’re not anymore they’re winning.
Nolan: I’m gonna keep coming for you any way I want until I have your badge.
Atwater: I will make it my job to come after you, and I will destroy you.
