Ok, I am going to try to be kind here, but if we’re being honest, I find the response from The Palace to be absolutely insulting and lacking anything that the world needs in order to believe in The Royal Family again.
I remember when Princess Diana passed and everyone wondered where the Queen was. She said that she was taking care of her grandkids and being a grandmother first. And that was a turning point for me – one where I actually liked her after thinking that she was incapable of any emotion.
But, when it comes to the bombshell revelations that came out in the Harry and Meghan interview, the world deserves an answer. It stopped being a personal family issue when we were hit with the realities of just how fucked up that the palace is. It stopped when we saw the institution try and smear Meghan’s name prior to the interview.
Their sad excuse for a reply?
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” it said.
“The issue raised, particularly that of race, are conceding. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
It concluded: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
We can tell that this was written by by some overpaid and over valued secretary who didn’t know what to say. Granted, I don’t feel like anything that they do say could be right.
But I tell you what Queen, let Oprah in there to interview you all one by one. Let Charles make his excuses for what a shitty Dad he is. Let William make excuses for himself and hope that his Mom isn’t looking down from heaven shaking her head at him, knowing she raised him better.
Let someone explain to us why the palace is so willing to protect Prince Andrew OVER anyone else.
Because this response is a joke.
Your family dynamics – sure, that shit is private. Figure out your crap and how to actually love and be there for each other. But your politics, your racism, your support of the British press tormenting your family, and the fact that you compulsively lie to the public – that shit is not private.
Do better Royals, because this shit is a joke.
