I can speak forever about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview, because there is so much to unpack. And judging by the reaction of The Royal Family, they know that there is a lot that the world will continue to unpack.
Prince Charles and Prince William walked away looking like the worlds two biggest assholes after the interview – and I am not even saying that for any reason but for the fact that they weren’t there for their immediate family.
It was only a matter of time before Prince William had no choice but to address the interview.
He told a Sky News reporter on Thursday, “We are very much not a racist family,” when he stepped out with Kate Middleton for the first time since the interview.
Breaking: Prince William has become the first member of the royal family to publicly address the race row sparked by Harry and Meghan’s interview. He says he hasn ‘t spoken to his brother yet but will do and royals very much not a racist family. pic.twitter.com/WPtjexzARN— Rebecca English (@RE_DailyMail) March 11, 2021
He was then asked if the royal family is racist, he responded, “We are very much not a racist family.”
Look, I am not trying to say anything rude, but the reality is you can’t diminish Meghan and Harry’s feelings and what they went through. I understand that they said that they would take care of everything privately, but that is not an appropriate response William.
Yesterday, the palace responded to the interview.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the statement said.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” the statement continued. “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
This entire family needs to learn from what is happening. I don’t feel like William’s response was anything but defensive. But hey, that’s normal for this family.
