It looks like Intelligence has found Rojas’ replacement. Welcome to Intelligence, Andre Cooper. I think you’ll fit right it. It’ll be nice for Kevin to have you around. And hey, can we please stop pointing a gun at the newbies on their first day? Or better yet, how about we don’t put them in danger at all? Maybe that’s asking too much. Chicago PD‘s “Impossible Dream” introduced us to the newest member of intelligence.
Welcome Andre Cooper
I like this new rookie Andre Cooper. I like what he brings to the table. For one, he brings out a new side for Kevin. Being a mentor is new for him on the job, and it will be nice for Kevin to have someone to mentor. Especially someone who can relate to him. It will be nice for Kevin to not be the only black cop in Intelligence. Two, he’s been there for one day and he’s already giving opinions to Voight. Most people are terrified of Voight, but not Andre. He brings a new side to things and I can’t wait to see where that goes.
Ruzek freaking out at Copper calling an audible is kind of funny – cause you know he would do the same. I’m pretty sure most of intelligence would. They’re all about doing what needs to be done in order to catch the bad guys, even if that means changing the original plan. Cooper calling audibles and doing the exact opposite of what he’s told tells us he is going to fit right in with intelligence.
Ruzwater: Partners, Friends, Restaurant Owners?
Ruzwater are friendship goals. I love that they are thinking of owning a restaurant together! Ruzek seems a little hesitant at the moment, but I have faith he’ll come around. Atwater seems adamant on doing this and having Ruzek as a partner. Plus, if he’s concerned about the logistics and getting started, I’m sure Herrmann would be more than happy to help. All I can say is I’m all here for this Ruzwater restaurant that’s in the works. They really need to talk to Herrmann.
If Ruzwater end up owning a restaurant together, put me down for the first reservation. I think those two would make fantastic restaurant owners, and their restaurant would probably be amazing. I could see them owning this super hip restaurant that’s the cool place to go to and hang out in Chicago. Those two are just so cool. I know I’d want to hang out at any place they owned. Table for one, please!
Stand Out Scene
Jay teased Hailey, and this episode was Hailey’s turn to tease Jay. The Upstead banter this episode was amazing. I love it when they tease each other. And Hailey’s Jay smile is the cutest thing. That scene was nice one because we got a cute Upstead scene, but also because it brought a little humor to the episode.
Jay teased Hailey about the chocolate bar, and Hailey teased Jay about getting punched in the face. I just love them so much. I love all the Upstead crumbs we’ve been getting the last few episodes, but if I’m being honest, I miss the relationship stuff. We haven’t seen them interact as a couple since 8×04, and I want more. I get that it’s a procedural and things have to be done a certain way, but it’d be nice if we could at least get a scene or two. It’s been five episodes. I want all the cute, romantic Upstead. I think we’ve waited long enough.
Hailey: Should we take you to Med?
Atwater: The kid is on his own.
Andre: There’s gotta be a way to do this without destroying innocent black lives.
