Hi, Grown-ish fans! This year’s season finale was a banger! Phew! Between Zoey and Aaron to Jazz and Doug to Aaron and the cops, it was a roller coaster ride but made for such a good episode. Grown-ish has delivered a stellar season finale, and while, I saw some things coming, there were quite a few things that happened, that had me raising an eyebrow.
I’m very worried about Vivek, I think Jazz and Doug will be okay if they can learn to be friends again, and as for Zoey and Aaron… let us just say, I saw this Whitley and Dwyane Wayne reunion coming a mile away. I am very pleased, because Zoey and Aaron are each others person, and they have been from episode one. I like them and I want them to work.
Please writers just give us this. It’s been a tough year for all and Zoey and Aaron finally working out gives me HOPE. There is a lot to discuss in the season finale of Grown-ish “Who Do You Love” so let us dive in, shall we.
A Different World 2020

Aaron has graduated but not without some controversy. You all remember how Cal-U wanted to bribe him into signing an NDA if he chose to take their money to wipe out his student loans. The NDA was to get Aaron to not speak about Cal-U divesting their tuition dollars into private prisons, something Aaron is totally against. I honestly didn’t think Aaron could pull his latest protest off, but the dude has some serious chops and he has the balls to back it up.
Aaron went on stage and spoke about why he wouldn’t be signing an NDA, which lead to the entire student body to not walk up on stage and receive their diploma’s but instead take off their robes and show not only the powers that be at Cal-U their orange jumpsuits, but the media as well. Way to shake the system down Aaron. Well played.
Cal-U has no choice now but to acknowledge their wrong doings and apologize and divest their funding. Aaron won, and our girl Zoey couldn’t be prouder, too bad he has a girlfriend named Rochelle. Sigh. Yes, I know Zoey and Aaron cheated. I know, they know, we all know. BUT, Aaron and Zoey are soulmates, so doesn’t that count for something? Doug and Vivek sure think so and go as far as to tell Aaron, that if he was 100% sure Rochelle was the one for him, he wouldn’t have cheated with Zoey. Damn. Realness. Do I condone what Zoey and Aaron did, no, but do I understand their situation? Absolutely. They are the Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert of Cal-U and I will fight anyone who says otherwise!
I swooned when Aaron finally came to terms with his feelings for Zoey, but not before she told him she would bow down and concede to Rochelle, thanks to a heart-to-heart with Luca. Obviously, this was the push Aaron needed because to live without Zoey in his life would be no life for him and I was living for their moment. Although Aaron’s realization was a little lackluster for me, I’m not gonna lie. However, in hindsight, Aaron and Zoey, have already had a meet-cute and an airport montage so maybe I’m just being selfish. Aaron and Zoey embracing and confessing their mutual love for one another gave me LIFE this week, so I’m not mad at it. If only it could be that easy for sharpwin.
Breakups and Other Things

Show of hands, who saw the break up of Jazz and Doug coming a mile away? I mean, the fact it took this long for both Jazz and Doug to realize, this was a deal-breaker, was hugely disappointing and annoying. Doug is furious with the situation and more heartbroken than anything else. Jazz seems pretty non-plussed by the situation she created, but she is not to blame. They were taking a break, she didn’t cheat and she told Doug the truth and gave him an out.
He chose to stick by her side even though he still felt some kinda way about it. So, when a drunken Doug reveals to Luca that Jazz slept with someone else, I was not surprised at all. I was hurting right along with Jazz because you could see the tears welling up in her eyes, but it also helped pushed her to realize that maybe she and Doug were not meant to be. At least right now, at this moment. I’d hate to lose Doug from the friend group just because he and Jazz are not dating. So fix it writers, give these two their space but then bring them back together.
Meanwhile, Vivek is trying to make a clean break from his drug dealer lifestyle. How bro? Have you saved up enough money to live in that house after you have stopped selling Adderall on the black market? How do you go from making thousands per week to making zero? Enquiring minds want to know Vivek.
While I admire your decision, I don’t think it’s realistic and we all know anytime a drug dealer says on the screen “I’m getting out the game” they either die or are arrested. It never ends well, so when Vivek is heading out of town with his girlfriend to Vegas for a weekend getaway, I was not surprised he got pulled over. It was interesting to hear him whisper that the cops are always sweating him though… Is Vivek being watched? Is his girlfriend a mole?
Chile, its too much drama going on right now at Cal-U. BUT I am here for all of it! I cannot wait until next season because all of these cliffhangers kept me knocking back that rosé.
