We’re back with another episode of Country Comfort and I am still wondering who I am going to invoice for the next 27 minutes of my life that can not be returned to me, but I stupidly volunteered to give up.
Look, I get it. I could turn it off, but because I love Katherine McPhee, I keep holding out hope. Hope has gotten me watching a lot of shit that I should give up on.
So let’s break in to this episode and the TGIF lesson it’s trying to teach us – THOU SHALL NOT LIE. We get it.
Cassidy is ungrounded, which she had been because she was lying. She says that she’s only going to tell the truth from now on. But that doesn’t work for Beau when Summer walks in. Summer is buttering up Beau and Bailey, because she wants something.
And hey when a woman wants something, there isn’t much that can get in their way.
Summer wants Beau to sleep over at her place. He’s not ready, you can see it all over his face. To be honest, I would have more respect for the man if he was like girl – no, but he blames it on the children. Of course he’s a liar and a chicken shit. Summer puts down an ultimatum, she wants to know that she’s wanted and loved. She tells Beau to stop her if she’s made a mistake but he doesn’t.
I mean hell, shouldn’t he thank the lord above that he got rid of her. I was applauding. If you like Summer, I don’t understand you. Sure, I don’t understand a lot of things – but this I don’t understand.
Bailey is trying to get Beau to see the light. She told him in the last episode that he needs to take care of himself and she really wants him to. The two always speak in euphemisms but the thing is we all get what he’s saying, which a lot leads back to sex. Bailey asks him if he’s talked to the kids about staying out – but he doesn’t want to talk to them about his life.
Umm we’re not all stupid people. Parents – your kids know you are having sex. And we just don’t want to hear about it.
Beau and Bailey move into the other room to talk, and he admits that he doesn’t want the kids to hate him. She tells him that the kids want him to be happy and that the kids could never hate him. I have no idea why she’s pushing him towards Summer. She may have lost her mind.
Brody has a date – FINALLY. Lorraine’s cousin wants to go out with him. Everyone is shocked, but trying to be supportive. They all have shit to say and I can’t help but laugh because he’s a cute little dweeb. He’s nervous and insecure.
Family meeting time and if there is anything that we all know as kids – that’s never a good sign. Beau walks in like he’s a ringmaster in a show; nervous and sweating and of course Cassidy calls him out. Beau talks about growing and the kids just want to know what he wants. They can see through his bullshit and he’s just taking it too far. He wants to reassure them that he still loves their Mama, but he’s gonna sleep over and lies and says he’s going to Alabama. Cassidy calls him on his shit – cause he’s a bad liar.
And to make matters worse – he draws Bailey into his lie. Like dude, that’s just not right. But then to make it worse – he then tells Tucker and Brody that they need to cancel their date. Brody is upset over having to cancel date, but he should know Tucker always has a plan and says dates are coming over. He promised that they wouldn’t go out, but not that the dates couldn’t come in.
Tucker is giving bad dating advice, but for as idiotic as he acts, he deciphers really quickly that his Dad lied to them and he is at Summers.
Beau and Summer are horrible at flirting, it is almost painful to watch, but then again, isn’t this this show. It’s like they don’t know what they are doing now that Beau is staying. Beau lies to Summer that the kids were okay with him spending night out. He leans in for a kiss, which I can respect because hey – diversion is the key to solving a lot of shit.
But Bailey calls Beau and interrupts. She’s freaking out over the lie – she’s not good at them. He says unless someones bleeding or something on fire – don’t call. Beau blames her for getting him into it. It’s her time to cover for him.
Look, the only thing that I can say for Beau and Bailey is that you know that they are endgame, but no one is sure if they care about endgame. Well anyone watching this hot mess.
Lorainne and her cousin show up. Bailey wants to talk to the boys – she is angry that they lied, but I mean… as usual these two shits have a way out of it. Tucker says he lied to them first – he figured out that he is at Summers. The boys are blackmailing Bailey to not tell on them, because they want their dates.
The boys are singing to the girls in the barn and Brody is moving like his legs are asleep or as if he has no bones in them. As usual, he’s stumbling over words and Lorainne’s cousin is insulted that he insinuated that she’s dumb. No offense not Lorraine – you aren’t the sharpest tool.
Bailey calls Beau and leaves a message. He won’t answer. Cassidy and Dylan are asking a lot of questions. The boys walk in with dates and Bailey is freaking out. Girl could definitely benefit from some Xanax. She buckles under pressure and is a nanny. These kids are going to eat her for breakfast.
Lorraine’s cousin ends up telling Cassidy thatBeau is spending the night at Summers. See, not the sharpest tool. Bailey kicks the girls out, which she should have done at the beginning.
In the chaose, Cassidy disappears. Cassidy texts Dylan and says she’s going to Summers. I mean, I smell a trap, cause Cassidy doesn’t really let her plans be known. But Bailey, and her big heart the size of Texas, tells them to all get in the truck – they are going after Cassidy.
Here’s the thing – we all figured at a certain point they would all end up a Summer’s. When they do – Beau is annoyed. I have to give props to Cassidy, as she hid in the truck and actually came with Bailey. No one knew it, but hey she’s genius.
Cassidy asks why they lied. Beau wants to know why boys told each other and their sisters. He’s looking for someone to blame. Someone who isn’t himself. But Cassidy just wants to know why he would lie to them.
Beau tells Cassidy that he was afraid that the kids would think that he was disrespecting their mama’s memory. He shoulda been honest. Cassidy tells him that she just wants him to be happy, they all do.
But as touching as this moment is – we all know that Cassidy is up to something. She is pretty good too. As the kids are getting ready to leave, Cassidy tells Beau that it’s a sin to have relations before marriage. Summer is like Cassidy has a point.
Cassidy cock-blocking made me laugh.
