We have mixed emotions about Cruel Intentions, but that’s an entirely different story.
Were we excited for the possibility of a Cruel Intentions television show? Yes. But, the truth is on a different level, we also knew that it would never be as dark as the movie and that made wanting it feel a little different.
Sarah Michelle Gellar starred in the movie playing Kathryn Merteuil. The actress spoke with the New York Times while doing promo for her movie, Do Revenge. She was asked about the television adaptation and her thoughts.
She was actually grateful that it wasn’t picked up and her reasoning… well we agree.
“That was a whole crazy time,” she said. “Nothing against NBC, but Cruel Intentions is straight streaming. On the first day, I was like, ‘This isn’t working.’ It’s just not a network show. And if it is a network show, it’s not my Cruel Intentions. So, I was actually grateful.”
Putting it that way, we agree with Gellar.
