Blindspot is back one more week!. After what happened in the previous episode, in “Balance of Might” Jeller has continued to break our hearts… although there have been some details that indicate that better times will come. Meanwhile, the team has solved another tattoo with the help of Megan and Roman continues with his plans … while his feelings for Blake are now a reality. Let’s analyze everything! Here we go!
CASE OF THE WEEK
This week Roman has taken Megan, Reade’s girlfriend – we still have to figure out how and why she knows her – to investigate a case about a refugee camp. Reade has suspected how the case has come up and accompanied her. He was right and they were attacked in the middle of the meeting.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team started investigating the same case when they receive the warning that Reade is in danger. They go as reinforcement and manage to save the refugees. At first they don’t want to talk about Megan’s advice – I understand her position but it was out of place because the FBI just wanted to protect them – but in the end, she gets them to cooperate.
Through them they manage to find out that the one who sent them there is corrupt and wants to attack the city that same day. The team goes against the clock and the problems don’t stop coming, because the man who brought them to New York has brought others … and plans to kill them, while attacking the city by means of bombs.
They divide and manage to deactivate both bombs, with Jeller working together again – the superposition of images to create tension while deactivating both bombs has been spectacular. The team saves the day and, at the end they discover that the person in charge is Hank Crawford. So now they know that he is behind everything. They have in their sights the great enemy.
It has been a case that has brought Reade’s girlfriend to the forefront and I still don’t feel it. I’m sorry, but I’m Team Tasha. In addition, Jeller has worked together again and, although Jane didn’t want it, the connection that unites them has been there, as present and strong as the first day. The pace of the case has been spectacular and it has not allowed us to look away, because in addition, they have interspersed the case with several important flashbacks so we could understand certain things and, of course, the action has been more present than ever.
TEAM BLINDSPOT
Tasha and Reade
It hurts me so much to see Tasha’s expression when having Megan so close and, above all, in that little exchange with Reade. I have suffered with her. For Tasha, it must have been very strange. Reade rejects that quickly, perhaps too much, and that hurts Tasha even more.
Although Zapata doesn’t show it, this whole thing is destroying her inside. She tries to disguise it, tries to tell herself that Reade is just a friend … when deep down she knows that he is more than that.
The truth is that I thought that Megan and Reade were going to break up in this episode, and I couldn’t have been further from the truth, in fact, it seems that everything is going smoothly, although they have had small disagreements during the case … but I still don’t think it will last. All this stuff between Reade and Tasha is about to explode.
Patterson and Kurt
My poor baby Kurt just wanted to do anything to solve or help solve what he had done wrong. With that thought, he asks Patterson for help, but she tells him to leave Jane alone, she needs time. And she repeats that there is nothing he can do. Kurt lowers his head at this, with regret, guilt and even shame.
But Patterson doesn’t comply with her own advice – thank God – and discovers that Jane’s daughter saw Roman the day after meeting Kurt. And I have to say, I KNEW IT! I knew that Roman had something to do with this matter and he was manipulating them!
Now the questions remain, is that girl really Jane’s daughter? Why has Roman done all this, apart from interposing himself between Jeller? There are many unanswered questions right now, because this changes everything. In fact, I don’t think it will take long to find out that the girl is alive. I can’t wait!
Jane and Zapata
I love seeing this friendship! Tasha worries about how Jane is, she knows Jane is having a hard time. In fact, she throws a hoot at Kurt, it shows that she fiercely defends her friend. That is what Tasha does, always, defends like a beast those she loves, to the ultimate consequences. Tasha even offers Jane to stay in her apartment, drown the sorrows in bottles of wine and ice cream. She offers her sincere friendship … but Jane prefers to stay alone. Her instinct has always been to retreat in solitude to protect herself.
JELLER
These two. There’re so many things to say … but I need to get out of me that Jane has disappointed me a lot. Although, we go in parts. Kurt still has Jane’s ring where she left it, where he can keep it or touch it and he’s nor moving it, not if she’s not going to put it back on. He is calling her to ask her to stay at home and he’s offering to leave … and he loves her. Those words and the way Kurt says it have broken me into a thousand pieces.
Later, when Jane meets him there is a clear distance – both at that time and while they are with the team – she tries to get away from him whenever she sees him too close and tells Kurt that she “has everything she needs,” even though that It’s not true, she needs Kurt, only she can’t see it in the midst of pain and confusion. But Jane needs him.
Near the end of the episode, both must work together and thus, together, they manage to end the threat. But there are certain important details in those moments. Kurt holds the bomb in his hands, wanting Jane to move away. Kurt is willing to die, to sacrifice himself so that she is safe. That is the measure of his love.
As for Jane, she reacts on time and saves him when the bomb explodes. She separates him from the explosion and the concern for each other is felt in the environment, in their words, in their eyes … the love that they have betrays Jane’s determination and surpasses the pain for that small moment. In spite of everything, that love is still there, what they feel is still there, more alive than ever, beating.
However, there are some things that can stain this. Throughout the episode, we were able to find out where Clem and Jane know each other from. He also worked on rescues, just like she did, and both of them were caught by another old acquaintance, whom we saw in the first episodes of the season.
During those scenes I’ve already seen something strange, as if there was a sexual tension between the two … but I didn’t want to believe it because Jeller for life! But it was there … and I was right. Clem offers Jane to team up with him if she ever needs it and they start talking. In fact, he gives good advice, telling her to look for Kurt, to be with him no matter what happens.
And I love that but then, he kisses her and right then and there, Clem is canceled. He knows that she is a committed woman. Jane moves away but … returns to kiss him back and it is assumed that they sleep together. And this has hurt like hell.
I don’t see the need to do something like that. I mean, in that moment I can even understand Jane. She feels lonely, despondent, loves Kurt … and can not go back to him because she doesn’t want to put him in danger. And she needs some kind of human connection … but not this. Why not just be friends? But no, they have to sleep together.
I don’t know … it almost feels like a betrayal to Kurt, because while he is looking for her like crazy, she sleeps with another. And this is something that Jane has not told, so she also keeps her secrets. It’s not the same as Kurt’s, of course, but she also keeps her secrets.
The sense seems to return to Jane the next morning when she recognizes that she loves Kurt. However, that common sense doesn’t make an appearance in the present.
Although at first she refuses when she confesses that her daughter is dead – that I have a complaint with that, knowing everything that happened, the favor should have been asked of Patterson, not Clem – and lets him know that she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him, then she goes to him. That’s right, if the past was not enough, in the present Jane goes to Clem’s house … and it is presupposed that they sleep together.
If it was horrible before, this is a mess. What need was there for Jane to break her wedding vows? I understand that she is angry and disappointed with Kurt, but she loves him and can not run away from that feeling to take refuge in someone who does not mean anything to her. What is the reason? What can this entail? Nothing good, that’s for sure.
Jane should have accepted Tasha’s offer and leaned on a friend before going to someone like Clem, knowing what that meant. I was very disappointed in Jane, really. I don’t think this goes with her character. And I really hope Jane realizes her big mistake when she learns that Roman has something to do with her daughter’s business.
The only “good” thing about this is that Jane has not followed her instinct of being alone and running away. I still have no doubt that Jeller will be stronger than ever, I just don’t see the need for all this, having enough on the plate with Roman and Jane’s daughter.
ROMAN
Roman this time is in London with Blake and Victor. The latter still doesn’t trust him, but his plans are compromised when he must excuse himself not to go to a meeting that Blake had to attend. She doesn’t believe his excuses at all and confronts him without any fear and … I love it! I think Blake is perfect for Roman. She doesn’t swallow his lies and is able to stand in front of him and tell him to fix his shit.
It is at that moment that Roman confesses that he loves her. She has been able to see his lies in his eyes before but on that occasion he asks her to look him in the eyes and see the truth … and Blake sees it. He really loves her. And I believe it too. It is true that Roman is an expert liar, but this time it is different. Blake can see inside him, inside his lies and has not seen any … and I haven’t either.
The way he looks at her when he thinks nobody is looking at him … he loves her, it shows. When he told her, when he was talking to her, he had a look of supplication in his voice and that was not because his mission was in danger. It was because he didn’t want to lose her, because he can’t do it. Blake responds to his confession by letting herself be carried away by the passion and love he makes her feel.
However, the mission is still important to Roman and he can’t deviate … so he sneaks up on Blake about Victor and pulls out some important information. And Victor does the same when he sends to analyze his fingerprints.
This is on fire! Roman has feelings for Blake that grow more and more and there will come a time when that will collide with his mission to catch Crawford. On the other hand, Victor is investigating and may find out who he really is. This story is increasingly interesting!
CONCLUSION
Blindspot left us with our mouths open another week. The team has advanced in its investigation and they already know the face of the great villain to beat. Meanwhile, Roman also advances in the inner circle of Crawford, while his feelings for Blake grow more and more.
And Jeller … they have broken our hearts in a thousand pieces again and have left Jane on the tightrope. Of course, the action has been present all the way.
In short, the episode continues with the rhythm of the previous ones, at the same level but they have surprised us with some drama between Jeller that we didn’t expect … although they will fix it, that’s for sure.
Agree? Disagree? Don’t hesitate to share your opinion with us in the comments below! We’ll be back next week with episode 3 × 11 “Technology Wizards.” And here’s the promo for the next episode.
