San Diego Comic Con kicked off officially today, with the first full day of panels, press interviews and goodies from the SDCC floor! Fangirlish was there, and we’ve got a recap for you!
Conan at Comic-Con Featuring Green Arrow, Flash, & Supergirl
The heroes of The CW stopped by Conan at Comic-Con on Thursday where they took San Diego by storm. Arrow‘s Stephen Amell, The Flash‘s Grant Gustin, and Supergirl‘s Melissa Benoist appeared together for the first time since Supergirl joined the ranks of The CW’s DC heroes. From Stephen Amell’s massive arm porn to Grant Gustin’s adorable bubbly nature to Melissa Benoist’s smolder, this was definitely one of the highlights of our day getting to see The CW’s heroes join forces at Spreckles Theatre. It almost made the scorching heat worth it.
Art by Lord Mesa
When it comes to Comic-Con you have to appreciate the artists that add their flavor to our favorite fandoms and characters. One of our personal favorites is Lord Mesa, who is known for his Arrow, Flash, and Supernatural artwork. We practically threw our money at him. But it was so worth it.
Luke Cage

// Netflix brought its first Marvel Television property to Comic-Con in the form of Luke Cage starring actual superhero Mike Colter (just look at him). We chatted with Colter and the rest of the cast, as well as the producers about what fans can expect from the third Marvel Television installment leading up to The Defenders. From the seven episodes that we’ve seen so far, trust us this show is one that you don’t want to miss.
Teen Wolf
It was a bittersweet day for the Teen Wolf fandom as the series announced that its sixth season would be its final season. But the day also brought us the first trailer from the upcoming season, which left our heart in tatters. We also had a chance to talk with the cast and producer of Teen Wolf about what lies ahead in the final season, including a “definitive Stydia moment” and everyone forgetting Stiles. This final season is definitely not going to let up on our hearts.
MTV Fandom Awards
The perfect close to the first full day of Comic-Con came in the form of the MTV Fandom Awards, which brought together the Comic-Con crowd and some of our favorite stars from Arrow, Shadowhunters, and Teen Wolf. We watched from the press lounge as Olicity captured the coveted “Ship of the Year” award for the second consecutive season (with Stephen Amell present to accept), Shadowhunters won “New Fandom of the Year,” and Teen Wolf took home the honor of “Fandom of the Year.”
