A part of us (a big part, really) doesn’t want to be excited about Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. And yet, there’s another part, a smaller one, but hard to silence, that grew up on the Harry Potter world, that recognizes that JK Rowling is anything BUT perfect, and still can’t quite let go of the impact she had on our childhoods.
We’re not here to tell you where to stand on the issue, especially when we sometimes don’t know ourselves, but the first full trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is here, and one thing is for sure – we’re all gonna have to decide sooner, not later, how we feel and how willing we are to support this movie.
For now, here’s the trailer if you want to take a look.
Directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald finds Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore (played by Jude Law) taking on powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). Katherine Waterston also returns as Tina Goldstein, the rehabilitated Auror who also joins the fight against Grindelwald.
