On this week’s episode of How To Get Away With Murder, we learn more about Issac’s troubling backstory when we find out what really happened when his daughter, Stella, died.
This season has built a rather difficult relationship with Issac and Annalise. It started out seemingly professional in the beginning, but later they both eventually became too involved in each other’s lives.
I’m not a fan of this toxic relationship that they have going. It seems like it won’t be going anywhere because now that Issac relapsed and he needs help. But during their argument, Annalise mentioned how she didn’t ruin his life.
That, that part I find hard to believe. I think Annalise did play a role, if not a huge one on Issac. Her saying that makes it look like Issac has done this to himself when in reality, Annalise has pushed him into her personal life this whole time.
Why can’t we have Annalise be involved in a relationship that isn’t necessarily toxic? Wouldn’t that be nice for a change? We already have her and Bonnie, which is the most toxic of them all. Then we have Frank. And even with the Keating 5 since the start of the series because all they did was cover for each other and literally get away with murder one too many times.
I can’t seem to get where the writers want to go with this, really. I wonder what this will mean now that we have Issac spiraling with his addiction. I feel bad for the guy, I do. But can’t he get a break in all of this?
The opening scene with him just showed so much hurt and pain in his eyes when he finally goes in for the opioid. Addiction is a disease, and from the turn of events of the last episode ‘He’s A Bad Father’, it opened just enough wounds for him to go back to it.
I really wish Annalise and Issac’s relationship didn’t come down to this. It would have been such a fresh start for Annalise. A new season with a new person that she won’t fall for, but a person that can truly be there for her and help her with her issues/goals/pain. But instead, we make a huge shift now, I’m not sure if they both can come back from this.
‘Ask Her About Stella’ is an episode that really sets up the tone for the excitement that is the TGIT crossover with Scandal in the next episode.
Nate’s father’s case won’t be tossed away just like that, now that Michaela suggested Annalise who to go to for help.
Okay, but like since when did Michaela know about Olivia Pope this whole time? But then again, they do share some similar qualities of each other.
Anyway, moving on to things with Laurel’s family drama, it’s definitely getting sketchy with Mrs. Castillo. That was quite a confrontation Frank had with her. I hope I’m not the only one that’s eager to find out what will come out of her mouth regarding Wes.
As we gear up for the Scandal/How To Get Away With Murder crossover in the next episode, there are just so many questions going in. I know I’m anticipating the big first official interaction between Annalise and Olivia.
They’re going to tag team which I’m all for! Will Olivia also interact well with Michaela?
