You know if it is something that Greg Berlanti does – 9 times out of 10 we’re along for the ride.
What can we say – the man knows good content. Here he goes proving it again – the uber producer has optioned Mackenzi Lee‘s YA novel The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue with plans to adapt it for television.
All the excitement around this one! It’s such a great book and we can totally see how this one would translate to television.
We love a good period piece.
If you aren’t familiar with the book, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, tells the story of Monty, “a young bisexual British Lord who goes on a European adventure with his biracial best friend (whom he is in love with) and his sister.”
A sequel to the novel, The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, is set to be published in October.
There is no showrunner for the adaptation yet. Berlanti is not doing it himself, but plans to bring someone on and shop it around.
If you aren’t familiar with Berlanti’s work – he’s behind such shows as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning as well as Riverdale, Blindspot, and Deception. He’s also behind two upcoming shows that we can’t wait for – You and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Have you read The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue? Are you excited for the adaptation?
