Books to movies or television are our thing. We all know that. We love seeing someones creation come to the screen, giving us everything we wanted and everything that we didn’t know we wanted.
One of the best books that I read in 2018 is Gail Honeyman‘s bestselling novel Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. Sure the book was out long before I had the chance to read it, but when I did – I related to Eleanor and therefore was enamored in the story.
Set to write the script is The Post screenwriter, Liz Hannah.
Eleanor Oliphant is the story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine who goes from living a lonely life to realizing the only way to survive is to open your heart.
Now – I am not a heroine, but I assure you if you read the book, you will feel a connection to the story.
Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine label optioned the book in 2017, but it was announced last week that MGM has joined forces with Reese to bring the story to life. The actress will soon be staring in Legally Blonde 3 for the studio.
“Gail has created an incredibly smart, funny, and eccentric character who beautifully demonstrates the ways vulnerability and human connection can so deeply enrich your life. Eleanor’s journey is utterly extraordinary. To know her is to love her, and I’m so excited to team up with MGM and Liz Hannah to bring this unbelievably gorgeous character to life on-screen.” Reese said about the partnership.
