It’s almost October, which means spooky season will soon be upon us. It looks like Hulu has gotten a head start with their upcoming film, Wounds.
Directed by Babak Anvari, and starring Armie Hammer, Dakota Johnson, and Zazie Beetz, Wounds tells the story of a New Orleans bartender Will (Hammer), who picks up a cell phone that was left behind in his bar. As a result of this, strange things start happening to him and his girlfriend Carrie (Johnson).
Sounds like a pretty basic scenario I admit, but after I watched the trailer it got me thinking. What’s on the cellphone that is so disturbing? What would I do if I saw something disturbing if I went through it? Would I even look through it to begin with?
You might find yourself asking these questions as well. Take a look at the trailer below.
Creepy right? Also, that was a lot of bugs! I like the premise of this film, because even though it’s a horror film, it deals with a real situation. People lose their cell phones all the time and we pick them up without giving it a second thought. Personally, I have never gone through a lost phone. This seriously makes me think about what we could potentially open up if we did make the decision to go through someone’s phone.
I don’t know what kind of evil Will unleashed when he made the choice to look through the lost cell phone, but I am definitely curious to find out. One thing is for sure, I won’t be going through anyone’s lost phones anytime soon.
Wounds will available to stream October 18th on Hulu.
