We hated Shadowhunters. We admit it. But the thing about that is we didn’t hate the cast. It wasn’t their fault they were given the worst scripts ever written to work with.
Why am I bringing that all back up? Well, the reason is because we’ve got a whole new respect for Kat McNamara since she has been on Arrow. She has had better content to work with and has been able to flex her muscles as an actor.
Kat will be flexing her muscles even more. The actress has been cast in CBS All Access’ adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand. She is joining an all star cast which includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Hamish Linklater , Nat Wolff, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Henry Zaga, Brad William Henke, Greg Kinear, Alexander Skarsgård and Whoopi Goldberg.
The 10 event series is based off Stephen Kings book of the same name. If you aren’t familiar with the series it is an, “apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.”
Josh Boone is serving as the showrunner of the 10 episode series.
Kat will play Julie, a small town girl with a wild side who has a run in with Lloyd (played by Nat Wolff) in Vegas. A run in, in Vegas, never ends up well for me, so interested to know how it ends up for her.
Production of The Stand is currently underway in Las Vegas.
