Legends of Tomorrow has a distinct feel that differentiates it from its counterparts Arrow and The Flash. Of course the time travel element is significant, but it’s also the dynamic between this unlikely team that makes it uniquely compelling.
One of those relationships within the team is the dynamic duo of Jax Jackson and Martin Stein, also known as Firestorm. The pair are far from perfect but have grown to be one of the more endearing relationships to watch on Legends.
“It was pretty tumultuous at first,” Franz Drameh told us of the pair’s relationship during a roundtable interview at SDCC. “Throughout season one we bonded and worked out our issues, and now we’re a cohesive unit; we’re on the same page now. Going forward that’s going to be good.”

While the many relationships that make up this Legends of Tomorrow group are compelling in their own right, it’s the unlikely family dynamic that has formed between this group of heroes and villains that has made for some great television. Drameh likens it to a “dysfunctional family.”
“Of course there will be issues with all of the Legends,” Drameh continued. “I feel like our dynamic is sort of like that of a dysfunctional family. We don’t always see eye-to-eye, we don’t always get along the best, but we make it work.”
Watch our interview with Drameh below where he discusses joining the DCTV universe, getting his geek on, actor bonding, and more.
Legends of Tomorrow season two premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8/7c on The CW.
