If you’ve seen Thursday’s episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, you know that there was a shocking development with Wentworth Miller’s character of Leonard Snart. While we won’t go into specifics for those who’ve yet to see it, Snart’s character made his regular exit from the show.
While Miller has exited Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, Deadline reports that he has now become a regular in Greg Berlanti’s DC Universe on The CW, which means he’ll split time between Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, where he first originated.
“We always knew that he wouldn’t be a permanent member of the Waverider,” Berlanti told Deadline. “We also knew we loved him on the show and all shows, Flash as well.”
Showrunner Phil Klemmer has been teasing that we’d be seeing some familiar faces exit the team and new faces join when season two begins, and it now appears as if Miller is one of those faces exiting on a regular basis.
“What it really emulates to us is the comic books themselves where there really are a cast of characters,” Berlanti said. While Miller “won’t be part of the team of Legends on board of The Waverider next year, he will have a very active role on the show.”
But that doesn’t mean that Snart has forever left Legends of Tomorrow, much to the delight of Captain Canary fans. It just sounds like he’ll be popping up everywhere. Perhaps we’ll even see him show up on Arrow or the newly-acquired Supergirl, which will make the move to The CW for its second season.
While Miller’s contract is “the first contract not applicable to just one show,” Berlanti hopes to do the same with other characters, “in success we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.”
All we know is that we’re thrilled to know that Captain Cold has not made his last snarky remark, and that there is plenty more ahead. And hopefully on the Captain Canary front, as well.
