This can’t be good news. And yet, we refuse to accept that it’s bad news. We just refuse.
THR reports that ABC is moving ‘Still Star-Crossed” to Saturdays, and also sending it on a short break – with the next new episode set to air on July 8th.
Ratings were poor from the beginning, with the first episode scoring just a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49 and only 2.3 million viewers. The show’s latest episode dipped to a 0.3, which is probably not what ABC wanted to see when it paired the show with The Bachelorette.
Still, the news comes as something of a surprise considering the show, an adaptation of the Melinda Taub novel, has Shonda Rhimes behind it.
The news is not a cancellation – the network is likely to let the rest of Season 1 air either way, but at this point it seems unlikely the cast will be retained for a possible season 2.
How are you feeling about the news? Are you devastated? Are you just getting ready for a fighting? What do you think we’ll get to see the rest of this season – is a happy ending in the cards? Share with us in the comments below!
Still Star-Crossed with return on Saturday, July 8th.
