Perhaps one of our favorite bromances on Supergirl, James and Winn united in a new way last season as they teamed up to take down criminals as Guardian. We saw the duo work together to take down the street criminals while Supergirl took on supervillians. But are Team Guardian only destined to take on ordinary crime?
We spoke with Supergirl stars Mehcad Brooks and Jeremy Jordan at San Diego Comic-Con last month, where they talked about the dynamic of Team Guardian and teased that we’re going to see some fallout as both juggle their day and night jobs.
Last season, we saw James step into a new role as he went from CatCo photographer-turned-boss to vigilante-by-night as he took on the mantle of Guardian. Alongside bestie Winn Schott, James fought criminals in the street as a way to protect National City and find a purpose in his life. But Brooks would like to see Team Guardian take on more than just street villains.
“I love playing the Guardian,” Brooks said. “You just feel so powerful. I want to see him get more involved in not just sort of fighting crime, but also fighting super villains. Fighting the bigger causes.”

Season 2 was a big year for Winn, who stepped into a full-blown gig as a part of the DEO, while also joining forces with buddy James Olsen as part of the crime-fighting duo known as Guardian. But it sounds like we’re going to see how juggling two stressful and full-time jobs is going to affect them.
“I think eventually his sort of day and night sort of DEO and Guardian thing is going to catch up to him and James,” Jordan said. “It’s a lot to ask of normal human beings to kind of work that much.”
