There’s more Vida in the cards for all of us.
Yes, Starz has renewed the half-hour drama from creator Tanya Saracho. No, we don’t know yet when the show would return or with how many episodes.
And yet, right now, that doesn’t matter. Right now we rejoice.
“Vida has delivered on its promise of attracting a young, new Latinx audience to the Starz platform, as we had hoped it would, and we are pleased to be able to announce a second season of the series,” Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said, according to THR. “With these new episodes, Tanya and her team now have the opportunity to take audiences even deeper into the lives and community of the Hernandez sisters, and we look forward to bringing the next chapter of their story to life.”
The first season of the show has been critically acclaimed and very well received by the latinx community, in particular. The show currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and reviews for it’s depiction of the latinx and the LGBTQ+ communities have been overwhelmingly favorable.
Vida stars Mishel Prada, Melissa Barrera, Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda and Maria Elena Laas.
