It’s official! Barely days before the cast and crew of Doctor Who take over Hall H at San Diego Comic Con 2018, the BBC has released the first official teaser trailer for the new season of the show.

The trailer follows new companions Ryan, Yasmin and Graham going about with their normal lives –having dinner, hanging out with friends…when suddenly, a strange light envelopes them and… Time seems to change. Things start to get weird.
Then we catch a glimpse of a coat, of a pair of feet walking away hurriedly. And finally, we see her. The Doctor. The thirteenth incarnation of the Time Lord who stole a magic box and ran away, smiling at us as if inviting us on new adventures.
The teaser tells us a lot about the new series already. There’s a change in the way it’s shot, in the rhythm, in the aura of it all. And, if we’re to judge by The Doctor’s mysterious shenanigans, it looks like Jodie Whittaker’s incarnation of the madman with a box may be a little mischievous.
It looks like Chris Chibnall is looking to give the show somewhat of a makeover, and we’re excited about it. It’s only fair that after a new Doctor and new companions, the show would also take a different turn.
Whether it’ll be for the better or for the worse, it’s still up for debate. But the teaser gave us goosebumps, so hopefully that’s a good sign.
