The coronavirus pandemic has left networks scrambling to fill spots, and CBS has come up with a fun solution for when they run out of episodes on their Sunday slate: make a movie night!
God Friended, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans are the usual CBS Sunday night shows, but all three were forced to shut down production early, which means that by May there won’t be anything new the network can air.
But they CAN air old movies. And not any old movies, either, but the fun “I’ll probably watch that” kind of old movies, to boot.
“It’s a five-week programming event with epic films, iconic stars and brilliant stories that viewers love… and love to watch together,” Noriko Kelley, Executive VP of Program Planning and Scheduling for CBS Entertainment, explained in a statement.
