Leave it to A Discovery of Witches to give us such an intense Bishmont trailer that we’re still thinking about hours later! In the latest release we saw Matthew Clairmont struggling with the kind of man he is, while Diana Bishop showed him what kind of woman she is, aka a fighter who doesn’t give up on people. And Matthew, well he’s got Diana on his side, and there’s no way she’s going to let him spiral into nothingness when she knows him, despite the short time they’ve been together. Because we’re suckers for Bishmont content, join us as we break down the intense Bishmont moments from the latest A Discovery of Witches trailer!
1. “You won’t hurt me”
This isn’t Diana being foolish. This is Diana knowing that Matthew won’t hurt her because she knows him, and believes in him. Tied to that belief is her ability to stand her own ground and help him if he loses himself or needs a reminder of the good man he is.

2. Diana knows Matthew
You don’t believe that Diana knows Matthew? First of all, how dare you? Second of all, how dare you again? The amount of time you are around someone doesn’t mean you know someone. Also, blood is not thicker than water, and Diana doesn’t need someone telling her that she is foolish.

3. “They’ll know that I fed on you.”
And if the town folk don’t like it, they can keep going about their merry way. Diana didn’t let Matthew feed on her for shits and giggles, or because she’s a fool. She knows what she wants, the risks she’s willing to take, and what it means to care for someone like Matthew. Repeat after me townies, “It is always Diana’s choice if Matthew feeds off her.”

4. “Stand down. She’s with me.”
Yes, stand down, other sexy looking vampire. Diana is with Matthew and Matthew is with Diana. Where one goes, the other follows. And that trust, that bond that these two have, shall not be questioned in any way, shape, or form. No matter who Bishmont faces.

5. “You don’t protect me, Matthew. We protect each other.”
Diana is here to prove to Matthew and the world that women can hold their own. They can be the protectors, the aggressors, the champions. And we’re so here for Diana reminding Matthew of that fact over and over again if need be! Why? Because he’s never met someone like Diana, and sometimes even he needs that reminder.

6. The Bishmont union is no ones business.
You see that look in Matthew’s eyes? That rage? It’s for this random guy, who is probably important in the grand scheme of things, but will be random for now, thinking he knows anything about the Bishmont union. He doesn’t. No one does. And this random guy best hold his tongue if he wants to keep it. A little dark? Yes. Totally warranted? Yup! #ISaidWhatISaid

7. “I am nothing without Diana.”
We don’t see this moment as Matthew depending too much on Diana. We see this as a moment before transformation happens, when a character thinks so low of themselves before the sunshine in their lives shows them otherwise. That sunshine, that light, is Diana. And she’d gladly take up the mantle if it means showing Matthew how much “more” he is.

8. “You are stronger than this.”
This Bishmont moment is one that acts as the companion to the first on this list. Diana believes in him when he needs it most. That’s what you do for those you love; you hold them up while they get their house in order to be able to stand next to you in their full glory.
