I have never been so stressed after watching an episode of Motherland: Fort Salem. Seriously, I’m more stressed than the season one finale and the witch bomb. At least then we knew that Raelle and Abigail were ok. This time around, we have no idea what’s going to happen and why Raelle was chosen by the Camarilla. But “My 3 Dads” did reveal some key things that set the stage for the second half of season 2 and for this world in general.
First of all, I’m stressed about Raelle and what this means for her. Somehow the Camarilla know that she’s important. They might know because there is a spy in the Spree working for the Camarilla that knows who Willa’s daughter is. And maybe this is the Camarilla’s way of getting at the Spree and destroying them as well. That’s theory number one where the witch killers are trying to destroy them all.
My second theory is that Nicta is in charge of it all. She wants to destroy what General Alder has. And as evidenced in “My 3 Dads” she’s willing to sacrifice her own people to destroy the woman that she once trusted. Nicta though seems like she’s an even bigger planner and player than Alder and would make sure that she had all her bases covered when it comes to the witches and the institution that she wants to take down.
So, why not cause chaos. Why not stir the pot? And it’s because of this that I’m leaning more towards the theory that Nicta is in charge of everything and is moving the Spree and the Camarilla into key positions to destroy all of witch kind (and freeing them in a sick and twisted way) while getting revenge on Alder. Which, that kind of hate, that burrows in your body for years on end, isn’t healthy and it will eventually lead to Nicta’s destruction. Until then, she’s got the upper hand in all.

Then there’s my babies Raelle and Tally. They bonded in “My 3 Dads” so much and they were adorable goobers. Seriously, I need all the fluffy fic where they are just hanging out, playing the guitar, and learning about each other. And of course Abigail should join in too! Because these young women need a breather from the world and the enemies that want to take them down for being who they are or following the system they’re a part of.
“My 3 Dads” also made sure to give us more Edwin aka Raelle’s dad, in a role that was supportive of his daughter and the journey that she’s on. Seriously, 10/10 father material and we absolutely need to see more about him and his bond with Raelle. And I wonder if Tally and the military that were there at the Collar house will tell Edwin and allow him to help his daughter and along the way discover that his wife is still alive and kicking out there.
Talking about dads on Motherland: Fort Salem, can we mention Abigail’s fathers? Did the show talk about this before? Or did I just miss it? Because the women having the power in relationships like these is so shocking because it’s always the men who have multiple wives when you see themes like this on TV. And I bet there are some people that are butt hurt that Petra has more than one husband who helped raise and care for Abigail. We pity those people.
Right now, Abigail can use that family love and support as much as possible. Because her and Adil are heading right smack-dab into danger. They’re also heading straight to Raelle and wherever the Camarille has her hidden. And Tally and the Army won’t be far behind. Oh, and don’t forget the Spree because you know that a mother would do anything for her daughter. But also Scylla, who clearly still loves Raelle, she will burn it all down to find her love.

Here’s hoping that the only burnings or destructions to happen in next week’s episode of Motherland: Fort Salem has to do with the Camarilla. Because, sure, Alder is a messy person. But even she didn’t deserve molten lava poured down her throat as a means of possibly killing her and absolutely weakening her. But the Camarilla? Oh they deserve everything that’s coming for them and then some.
Because these witches, these young girls and women, are not dogs to be put into cages out of bigotry and anger at those that are different. They are the ones full of unimaginable strength. They are the ones who fight back. They are the ones who set their own destiny. And the Camarilla, the Spree, Nicta, or General Alder aren’t ready for the change that is coming their way thanks to young women like Raelle, Tally, and Abigail.
Just you wait.
