When Cassandra Clare first announced Secrets of Blackthorn Hall, a free, online series of stories set in the Shadowhunter Chronicles universe, a lot of us were hoping it would mean that we’d get a glimpse of Kit and Ty before the start of their own series, The Wicked Powers.
A few weeks in, we’ve only gotten a few little tidbits of information about them. And that’s okay! The series has just started, so of course most of the content is about Emma and Julian. That is to be expected.
However, we really want Kitty content, and soon. Kit and Ty ended things on a terrible note in Queen of Air and Darkness, none of us have recovered from it, and The Wicked Powers is still way too far away. And so, in an attempt at manifesting Kitty content in an upcoming installment of Secrets of Blackthorn Hall, I am now sharing my playlist of songs that I personally associate with these two characters.
The first few songs are about canon Kitty, and the later ones are about how I imagine these two will be feeling during The Wicked Powers.

It’s like a summer shower

This song makes me think of Kit being all “mind blank, no thoughts, just Ty and how pretty he is” all throughout Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness. The refrain of “I love you, I love you, I love you,” also feels very Kit and Ty.

I love it when fans make their own songs about fictional couples. This song by Sarah Vera was specifically written about Kit and Ty, and it fits their relationship perfectly.

This is a bonus song for my fellow francophones – or for non-francophones who enjoy listening to music in foreign languages. Ne m’appelle pas literally translates to Don’t call me, and it’s a song about cutting someone out of your life. The artist sings that this person has hurt her, that she’s better off without them, and that they should cut off all contact. This song always makes me think of Kit at the end of Queen of Air and Darkness, but it also feels like how each of them thought the other person felt when things went to shit.

Change the words from “seventeen” to “fifteen” and this makes me think of both Kit and Ty thinking of each other while they’re apart.
