Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are engaged. Now, we wouldn’t really care if these two are engaged. You do you. And even the announcement video was kind of chill and cute. But it’s what followed after that really had us and the internet side-eyeing Machine Gun Kelly and his choices of jewelry.
Like…don’t get us wrong. It’s a cute ring that forms a heart. But it’s the whole thorns of it that really freaked us out and got the internet talking. During an interview with Vogue with the couple, Kelly revealed that the ring had thorns that would make the ring painful to take off for Fox.
Kelly explained, “The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…”
If that isn’t a red flag…then honestly, we don’t know what is. Love shouldn’t be about pain. Also, what if something happens and Fox has to take off the ring because of an emergency? She has to be caused pain to take it off and be safe? Is that what Kelly wants us to think about because we are and then some?
And the internet, who thinks these two are a dollar store version of Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton, have thoughts on the thorns addition to Fox’s ring. Which, it’s important to note that maybe his version does have thorns or maybe it’s symbolic. The point being, it’s a red flag and here are some of our favorite responses from Twitter that agree:
