Interviewing can be nerve-wracking. But when you’re chatting with people like Kelli Berglund and Amadeus Serafini, the stars of Passionflix’s latest film Wallbanger, those nerves fade away. Talking to these two was a lot of fun because they were just so laid back in a way that was pretty similar to their characters Caroline and Simon. We also saw why they had such a natural flow in the movie.
Caroline and Simon are both outspoken characters, so we had to know what it was like for Berglund and Serafini to play their push-and-pull relationship because each one of them gave as good as they got.
Amadeus had this to say:
“I think her general dynamic, her way, is like that.”
Berglund quickly chimed in:
“There were so many times where we were filming, and I’m like, why are we like, literally Simon and Caroline right now? Just like our dynamic, and I feel like there were so many times where like, I had to like, pull something out of you a little bit, or I tried to like break the tension with humor and like you were a little more mysterious. Like definitely when I first met you, I’m like this is feeling very accurate to the book a little bit. So there was a lot of like reality.”
Amadeus agreed and added:
“It’s true yeah. Definitely some parallels. And then also focusing on the book, on the work. Focusing so much on trying to get the delivery right, the lines right, and sometimes kind of losing touch a little, and having Tosca come in and she would say “’ You guys, just be yourselves.’”
Berglund: “It’s a Rom-Com!”
Serafini: “Just interact the way you do on set when we’re not filming. And that would kind of drop us right in.”
See what we mean? It was so fun to watch these two interact during our interview. We admit we were indeed reminded of their characters, Caroline and Simon, as they spoke and exchanged words. It was clear that they both had a lot of fun together on this project, and it really did show. Check out the rest of our interview with them, and then tell us what you think.
Wallbanger will be available to stream on April 11th on Passionflix.
