NCIS Season 24, Episode 3 ‘Sleeping Dogs’ looks like it’ll put the focus back on the team instead of Tony. And though, sure, we knew the return of Michael Weatherly was always going to mean there would be a lot of Tony, it feels like we haven’t really gotten much of anyone other than Tony this season. In fact, I’ve barely seen Jimmy! And Jimmy doesn’t get enough to do as it is.
But hey, maybe while Tony is busy reuniting with Gibbs on NCIS: Origins, we can get some actual development for the rest of the team. Perhaps something on the Jessica/Jimmy relationship? In fact, if Tony’s gonna do anything, he should ask about that! Or hey, Ziva has been calling Jessica and knows Jimmy. She could ask! Someone absolutely needs to.
This episode seems like it’ll be more about Torres, which I’m not going to complain about. There’s a lot the show can do with the undercover angle, and they only pull it out every end of the season or so. And since we’ve already dropped that silly Nick and Jessica thing, Torres needs something to do.

Are there Pictures for ‘Sleeping Dogs’?
Unlike the promo, the pictures are very Nick Torres heavy, which makes sense for an episode that’s likely Torres-centric. We’ll still see Tony, because he cannot help but meddle, but I expect more of a focus on how Torres is dealing with his undercover persona being used.
What’s the Synopsis for the Episode?
The synopsis from CBS teases Torres coming to terms with his past, which feels like every Torres episode we’ve ever watched. Man’s got a lot to come to terms with; what can I say? “When Torres’ retired undercover identity is used to commit a string of murders, he’s forced to team up with his grizzled old-school former handler, Walt Keller (Mike O’Malley), and confront a darker version of himself that he thought he’d left behind,” the release reads. And honestly, we’re already pretty sure we won’t like this Walt Keller.
However, this does bring up a pretty interesting storyline for Torres, who hasn’t had much to do since Ellie came back late last season, other than that silly plot with Jessica and a possible romance.
The episode was written by Marco Schnabel and directed by José Clemente Hernandez.
Is There a Promo For the Hour?
Yes, one with Tony in very much not Director garb making a not-so-unexpected appearance at a crime scene. Like Parker, we are unsurprised.
Oh, wait, there’s another one! More Torres in this one, and a focus on his mentor, who we already don’t trust. No Gibbs/Parker vibes here.

NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8/9c on CBS.
Yes, I am Much more than in anything related to Tony! It’s time they focus on the team rather than him and as you said, it’d be a good thing if they finally reunite Jess & Jimmy
