NCIS: Origins Season 3, Episode 4 ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya’ brings another long-awaited reunion, and at this point this season of the show feels like a gift for longtime fans. Tony first. Now Ellie. Plus, there were those Vance and Ducky tributes. Who else can we expect to see? I’d say there’s a good chance we get older Vera, and that by the end of the season we figure out if Lala is alive or not. But what else?
There are still a few members of Gibbs’ team in the present that could come into play, and that could turn out to be really emotional returns. I think the biggest one might be Ziva, but I also wouldn’t say not seeing McGee or Jimmy with Gibbs. There’s a world of possibility here.
And the thing with this show is that the storylines in the past continue to be interesting. We were invested in NCIS: Origins before Mark Harmon returned, and though his return and the friends he meets along the way do add a great wrinkle, this show still has plenty of stories to tell in the 90s.

Photos
The photos go from what appears to be a confrontation between Gibbs and Franks in the past, to Franks and Lala investigating the case. All in all, Franks seems pretty upset in all these pictures.
But that’s not the biggest thing in these pictures, nope. Ellie Bishop is back! Yes, Emily Wickersham returns to the role to help Gibbs in the present. It’s like cameopalooza here. And we’re not complaining.

Synopsis
The story “in 1993,” sees follows as “the team intervenes when a general’s rebellious teen son is targeted by a dangerous former gang member.” How that makes Franks and Gibbs be at each other’s throats remains to be seen. Then, “in the present, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) returns to a place full of memories and discovers he’s not alone.” We already know he’ll be coming back to his house, and we already know he’ll meet Ellie Bishop there. What we won’t know is how Bishop can help him with the question of who tried to kill him and who else they’re after.
But hey, she probably has the contacts, and she’s pretty good at laying low.
The episode was wrriten by Steven Paul Martinez and directed by Patrick Cady.
Promo
The promo heavily focuses on the reunion between Gibbs and Bishop, and we already known Emily Wickersham will be around for more than one episode. So, what will the two get up to? Hopefully it’s not the last cameo we get. Ziva is somewhere close!
