NCIS Season 24, Episode 5 ‘Speechless’ sees the show return after a short election-induced break to bring us an episode that hits a little close to home. The hour will see Katrina Law’s daughter, Kinley Andreen, guest star as Chloe. We don’t know much about her storyline, other than she will be a witness found hiding alone in her apartment, and that she’s got a special skill that will help solve the case.
What we’re looking forward to is, of course, seeing her interact with her mom. And also how this storyline will move Jessica’s story forward. She’s been in a little bit of a standstill for a while, and now that we’re past the absurd fake love triangle with Jimmy and Nick, we can go back to focusing on what Jessica wants. We already know what Jimmy wants. So, what are we waiting for?
Let’s get our NCIS ship back together, please. It’s been too long.

Photos
The highlight of the photos is, of course, that we get to see Kinley and even have some pictures of her with Katrina, but also that it seems we’ll get at least one scene with both of them and Jimmy. There are also some crime scene photos, as always, and our requisite McGee sits at his desk and people stand around him photo.
Synopsis
The synopsis tells us that “when the team finds an 8-year-old girl, Chloe (guest star Kinley Andreen), hiding alone in her apartment and her Marine mother missing, they discover the shy witness is hiding a surprising skill that just might crack the case wide open,” which is basically the setup for the episode and the explanation of why Kinley is even there. The interesting part is what comes next, which teases, “as the investigation unfolds, it’s a race against time that tests just how far a parent will go to protect family.”
Again, the most interesting part of the whole thing is that this is a Jessica episode. And Jessica doesn’t have kids. So, what does this mean for the future of the character? Can’t wait to find out.
The episode was written by Scott Williams and directed by Marc Roskin.
Promo
Even if we didn’t know the history, we’d be charmed by this kid. But knowing the history? Unfair, NCIS. Unfair. And hey, no Tony on this one! Wonder if we’ll even see him. Vance wasn’t in every episode, after all.
