Beautiful book covers are out thing. We swoon over them. We get excited over them. And when they come from our favorite authors, we get even more excited.
The cover for the book, “What If It’s Us”, written by Becky Albertalli (Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda) and Adam Silvera (They Both Die At The End) was revealed and we’re swooning over it.
The book tells the story of Arthur and Ben, two young gay men in NYC who have a series of missed connections, which leads to them having a unique romance.
To be honest, it sounds absolutely amazing and the fact that it comes from two of our favorites Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera is enough for us.
But the thing is the two are so different as writers and so we’re wondering – will we be crying our eyes out or will we be getting a happy ending.
“When I was a queer teenager, I didn’t have the confidence or bravery to read about other queer people,” said Silvera to EW. “I think we have to move with the times here. And that’s one of the beautiful things about the cover … All my novels are about queer boys, and this is the first time that I have a cover that has two instantly recognizably gay boys on it. It’s clearly a rom-com, and for me it feels like another coming-out.”
It’s a beautiful cover and we can’t wait to read the book.
