The Walking Dead’s annual SDCC panel was today and besides a trailer for season 9, they gave us the news we had all expected : This will be Andrew Lincoln’s last season on the show. This news hits us hard, as Rick Grimes is one of the most well-known characters on tv today, and one of the few original characters from the first season left on the show. We’re not sure if we are ready to say goodbye to Rick yet but we’ll have to.
As for the season 9 trailer, things have changed. Peace has entered Sanctuary as time has passed. Maggie is now a mom!! (Glenn, we miss ya). As Rick enjoys the peace, not everyone is thinking it will last. Daryl, Carol and Maggie look to take the reins as different factions are preparing for war with one another. Negan is still in his jail cell taunting Rick about the idealistic world that looks to be broken at the end of the trailer.
So enjoy The Walking Dead Season 9 trailer and remember that TWD returns October 7 on AMC!!
