For the first time in a long time, fans of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will not have to sweat through a TV season worrying about whether AoS will be back. On Friday Afternoon, ABC president Channing Dungey announced that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was renewed for a 7th season way ahead of season 6’s arrival.

One name not mentioned in the press release, however is Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Phil Coulson. If you remember in the season 5 finale (SPOILERS just in case), Coulson went to TAHITI with Agent May to enjoy the last few days of life he had remaining. So as sad as it sounds, we might not actually see Agent Coulson anymore on the show. Fear not though, as Clark is the director of the season 6 premiere, which should hit our TV screens sometime in the summer.
So Agents, take a deep breath and relax. We will still get our FitzSimmons, our Quake, Mack, May and Yo-Yo. Even lovable goof Deke is returning for season 6. So here’s to ABC for letting us enjoy the best comic-book show on TV for another season!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will return in summer 2019.
