Live action movies. You either love them or you hate them. Personally, I have been on the fence for a lot of adaptations, but I have to admit this one, I am really intrigued by.
Snow White is one of my favorite fairy tales.
I think that one of the most important things about an adaptation is staying true to the heart of any story. With fairy tales, it’s true that they inspire many stories, and so an adaptation can go anyway. And even the Disney version of adaptations are not like the books – but I haven’t read those and the Disney adaptations are all that I know.
With Disney doing a live action remake of Snow White, I have a million questions. Who will be Snow White? Who will be the prince? The seven dwarves?
But we have to start with the first thing. Who will direct? Marc Webb is in negotiations to direct the live action adaptation. The deal is not finalized.
The Girl on the Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson is in negotiations to write the script, which will expand upon the original universe.
Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman are two of the adaptations of Snow White that have been made in recent years. Recently Disney has rebooted a number of its classics, including Dumbo, Aladdin, and The Lion King.
Webb is best-known for directing The Amazing Spider-Man series with Andrew Garfield.
What do you think about the possibility of a live action Snow White?
