This week’s episode of 9-1-1, “Pinned” was another intense one with several gruesome rescues and some new developments with Chim and Maddie’s relationship. Plus, that ending! But we’ll get to that later.
“Pinned” begins a bowling alley. And let me just say that Jesse is the most useless employee ever. He doesn’t pay attention when one of the lanes jams. His aunt leaves to fix the lane, but some bowlers switch lanes and then the machine crushes her arm. I said last week that blood doesn’t bother me, but I couldn’t watch during this. The idea of getting your arm crushed was just too much. Luckily, Buck comes up with a solution to get the lady free. She then promotes Garrett, and his first act is to fire Jesse. Loved it!

I don’t know what it was about the cases this week, but they bothered me more than usual. I knew something bad was going to happen when the dad and daughter were doing a home remodel, and the nail gun jammed. When the dad picked up the nail gun, I was just waiting. And then the nail shot into his heart. I really thought he was going to die especially after Chim made the hole in his heart bigger when trying to save him. Fortunately, the dad survives, but Chim and Hen didn’t escape without getting drenched with blood.
While this show always gives us interesting and sometimes crazy rescues, I like when the show focuses on the personal lives of the 118. I love that Chim decided to tell Maddie that he loved her, and while she couldn’t say the exact words back to him, she does feel the same way. I can definitely understand why she can’t say the words considering all she’s been through in her past, but I’m glad this relationship is moving forward. They both deserve happiness.
However, that happiness may be short lived seeing as everyone at the 9-1-1 call center is being held hostage. And by the same guy who attacked Josh. Maddie and Josh better be okay. I can’t believe we have to wait two weeks to find out what happens!
The other story this week featured Michael. He wants to take Harry camping since this could be the last time they get to go. While it’s a sad topic (and I honestly have no idea if Michael will survive or not), I’m liking Michael and Bobby’s relationship. And while they were away camping, Hen and Athena got to have some time alone. Their friendship is one of my favorites. Honestly, it’s just nice to see a female friendship on television.

Other Thoughts:
- I agree with Maddie: I hate public proposals. And it turns out it wasn’t even a proposal. This guy gives his girlfriend of five years earrings. Then she gets hurt by the rotating restaurant. I hope she finds someone new.
- I like everyone on this show. But can Buck have just a little more screen time? I can’t help that he’s my favorite.
